It’s a fallacy to believe that they aren’t fit enough to perform for 36 mins, and this is the kind of fight where we need to have the chance of a KO to increase the spectacle to epic proportions
Fitness to box isn’t the issue sir , the depth at the highest level is, making weight and rehydration are another and this leads me to a known fact women have thinner skulls than men ,work that out yourself , the determination is another dangerous factor with stubborn mentalities hat can take punishment as a punchbag . That extra pounding when your tired and taking shots over 12 rds is a ****ing long time . A fatality will surely happen , then what you going to say ?

I’m not saying either Taylor or Serrano would still be standing if, e.g., Inoue landed flush on them, but ffs, women can run marathons in about 2 hrs, I’m sure female boxers are good for 12 rounds of boxing
women’s world marathon record is 2hr 1 second, about 3 and half miles behind 2hrs at that pace , it’s a long way trust me just saying .

Sure, but relative to the avg. person it’s not a giant gulf. My point is, they’ve got stamina to burn

What I’d say then is that they signed up to box and know the risks, and will gladly take them, I’m sure.

There have been (sadly) fatalities in the men’s game. If you’re suggesting the men’s time in the ring should be similarly reduced to minimise the risk, then fine.

But if not, then I can think of no good reason why women’s boxing shouldn’t be in line with the standard. More KOs, more eyes on the sport, more money for the boxers

I hear ya but I'm a believer of " don't fix what's not broken " . All I know is this , Serrano let's it all hang out for the entire 2 minutes. Seems to me with traditional 3 minute rounds, there's always a minute of it where there's posing or no action at all. Can they keep that punch rate up for 3 mins? Probably . But I'd rather see them bump it up to 15 Rds and keep the 2 minute rounds. I love the action of a 2 minute round.
