Fury shouldn't be fighting anyone else without dropping the belt.

He can try. But Whyte will put an injunction in straight away.

So it's Fury's call. Negotiate the fee and fight Whyte, drop the belt and fight whoever you want, or just wait it out.

With only three options, you can guarantee Fury is going for option 4.

I’m not sure but I think only the arbitrator can enforce an injunction because there’s no current contract between Whyte and Fury so Fury has nothing binding he has to follow .

Fury has no choice negotiating the fee ,the games he’s playing is just stalling tactics to get another fight besides Whyte where he won’t be penalized by the WBC and play the good guy even though he’s the problem here . This entire fiasco is to see the outcome of Usyk and A.J while he schedules a fight that shifts the Whyte fight well past when A.J is set to try and regain his belts . Wheather he actually fights is anyone’s guess ,I’m still betting it’s Kabayel because it’s the safest fight he can get away with .


Unless Warren and Co. change their minds soon this is the most probable scenerio .

Fury is most likely going to announce another fight and stall this process out just enough to make it look like it was Whytes fault . Hopefully I’m wrong but this seems the way sneaky team Fury is operating and you can see that with shooting down any positive talks from Hearn ,kind of the blue print Arum used against him trying to make the A.J and Fury fight .

Disagree about Joshua/Ruiz. Joshua did exactly the right thing in the 2nd fight. Ruiz showed in the first fight he could take AJ's best shots and that AJ couldn't take his. As Usyk showed - you don't need to KO your opponents to win. AJ has a poor chin, no matter how good he is he is always going to have loses. Not to mention out of all the top HWs he has been fighting the best opponents. Pretty much every opponent is a top-10 guy. Don't forget AJ is FIVE years behind in his career than Wilder and Fury both of whom seem to have forgotten about fighting top-level guys apart from themselves, and arguably not even then cos Fury was overweight and retired when Wilder picked him. Pulev was ranked no.7 (Ring rating) and had only been stopped by Wlad when AJ stopped him. Usyk is better than AJ, that's why AJ lost. You don't retire cos someone is better than you, you get better, and if you lose you get better again. That's like saying WIlder should retire cos Fury beat him.

My point about the Ruiz vs Joshua rematch was not about winning for AJ, it was how he would redeem himself. He tried to finish Ruiz off in the first fight and got hammered the rest of the fight until he gave up. To truly even the series he would have needed to finish off Ruiz in the rematch which he didn't and that took away any confidence he had going into the rematch. Athletes can talk about getting better but is is more difficult to get back on top the second time, especially when you have losses like Wilder getting hammered in the last two fights and Joshua beaten down by Ruiz and close to that with Usyk if there was another round or two. So for that reason if Joshua were to lose a Wilder fight I think he would retire because the end would also be brutal for Joshua. Likewise Wilder should retire if he lost because based on the Fury fights he will hang on until he has taken too much punishment.

I get that about Ruiz but to try the same approach that already failed again would be madness. But you could be right - maybe he has lost some confidence to be aggressive but that chin is always going to be an issue. And to be fair he has been good enough to outbox everyone apart from Usyk. I would say in contrast to Wilder and Fury Joshua doesn't think he's a god because he's frequently tested by reality. Don't forget he admitted years ago to being knocked down by Price in sparring. So he is expecting to lose in his career. I don't see him giving up if he takes a few loses but who knows?

As for Wilder he never fights anyone live in the top-10. He needs to do that first before he retires. I can see him beating Whyte and AJ, so not sure why he should retire either!

I just feel people look at boxing as if it's realistic to actually be unbeaten. In any other sport the top players lose frequently its just in boxing everything is so controlled and managed that people actually think some boxers are unbeatable gods. And the when they lose - it's like ok, I'll jump onto the next big hitter coming through...
