Explain why they didn't do this earlier?
Why were fights bigger than Barrios vs Thurman not in PPV back then?
Is Barrios vs Thurman bigger than Porter/Thurman?
Why were they free back then?

How many PPVs have you bought this year. None.
Is Luis Ortiz vs Charles Martin bigger than Maidana vs Broner?
What is the difference between now and eight years ago?

Apparently the PBC has run out of $ to pay their top fighters. So PPV and hype is the formula what should be free fights. Don't mind paying for the best fighting the best but this is getting out there. If your going to make fights PPV how about Thurman vs Vergil Ortiz that's PPV worthy.

APPS and how people consume Programming is what changed! ESPN+, Showtime and FOX now have the setup and the Ability to get these fights D2C (Direct To Consumers) cutting out the Middlemen Distributors like Cable and Satellite Companies. It is BIGGER than Boxing! Boxing is not the NFL or NBA in which Sponsors are willing to pay MILLIONS to Run Commercials while it is on Free TV. If that was the case then Networks would gladly give Promoters bigger budgets to put these fights on for Free

Arguably Keith has had his day, and it wasn’t very long or very special. He was highly competent. He moved well (but too much). He showed flashes of something better at times in his duels with Porter and Garcia. But in his prime he also could be touched up by faded tough guys like Guerrero and Collazo. Chosen by Pacquiao as a soft touch, he made the least of the opportunity.

With luck he gets one last pay day and sails off to look after that pretty little exotic wife of his and play his zen flute. He has a very good boxing minds an analyst, and a small gift of the gab. He wouldn’t make a bad addition at all to a boxing broadcast if he laid off his silly imitation hood voice that makes him sound like a cartoon (“You better thtop ducking me, thon!”).

What are the odds on Barrios?

Would make for an incredible talking point if Barrios pulled the victory.

A lot of people wrote him off against Tank even though he was the naturally bigger guy. So, if he takes out one of the former, legitimate 147 champions? That's has to mean something about Barrios.

Your link was about Fox's rise in revenue attributed to increase in ads sales not PPV.
PPV restricts viewers from watching ads. Reason why some people buy PPVs
because they're not peppered with ads. PPV also limits the number of people watching ads.
The more accessible the sport is or any programming, the more people see ads and buy things.
PPVs are antithesis to ADS. You don't mention Ads and PPV together.

Really not sure about the thinking behind this fight, it's a lose-lose situation for Keith. If he outperforms Tank, he was supposed to do that, if he doesn't, he was outperformed by a lightweight. Nobody is gonna care that he's coming off a near 3 year layoff. He could've fought an opponent who's both a bigger name and lower risk, somebody who's a bit more shopworn and not with a point to prove.

Anyway, always root for One Time when he steps in the ring. Lets see what he has left. TEAM THURMAN!!

Just jumped in. Haven't read many of the comments, but from what little I did read it appears people don't care too much for Keith. I, for one, am stoked he's back. Thurman has been one of my favorite fighters over the past several years. Whether you like him or not (I do), one thing that shouldn't be disputed is his fights are always entertaining. Action. Drama. Skill. His only boring fight was against Leonard Bundu.

My only complaint is against FOX. First, for putting this fight on PPV. Second, for the co-main fight. I thought it could be salvaged by having a good co-main to look forward to, but NOPE: Leo Santa Cruz.

I'm not thrilled with Barrios as the opponent, but I didn't expect much after such a long layoff. Hopefully, Keith is finally healed up and can get back to form. I'm curious to see how much he has left, both in skill and desire. I'm pulling for him, though.

Hilarious!! A ppv main event with crap undercard and a main event with 2 fighters coming off losses! Classic!

"Location has not been finalized"..... but three up-and coming Arizona fighters making up the rest of the card. Sounds like this one's coming to Phoenix.... the gate at the Benavidez fight must have done well.
