Good list.
Here’s mine
Vasyl Lomachenko vs George Kambosos - I’m sure Loma would want this fight. And assuming he takes the belts from Kambosos, he’s probably going to immediately demand a rematch against Lopez. But this could happen in reverse, with Loma and Lopez having a rematch to decide who gets to fight Kambosos.
Errol Spence Jr. vs Yordenis Ugas - There’s a lot of shade being thrown at Spence for how much time he’s had to take off. So, I think he should try to make a statement by fighting the one who beat the guy he was originally scheduled to fight. Ugas is his most logical next matchup.
Naoya Inoue vs John Riel Casimero - Inoue is one of my favorite boxers right now and he’s just aging into his prime; this is the right time to start unifying the bantamweight belts. Plus, if a fight between him and Donaire, who was past his prime, was able to create 2019’s fight of the year, then imagine what this will do? I wanna see Inoue tested and overcome adversity like what we saw a few years ago. And I want to see Casimero give everything he’s got and show why everyone thought he deserved to be Inoue’s rival.
Naoya Inoue vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux - I know people are feeling that Rigondeaux is spent, but I think he should have one last fight. I don’t think he’ll beat Inoue, but anything can happen. Whether Rigo puts up a good fight but still loses or gets beaten in spectacular fashion, I think the best choice afterward would be to retire; it’ll help prevent his dignity from further damage after an embarrassing loss OR it will ensure he is remembered in a good light after he puts on a valiant effort. It’s also good for Inoue if he beats somebody who happened to beat Donaire, who was Inoue’s toughest opponent.
Jaron Ennis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr. - Boots really needs to start fighting the top competition and so does Ortiz. If their hearts and minds are fully in the game, these two could make a FOY level scrap against one another. Please, let’s make this happen in the coming year.
Jermall Charlo vs GGG - These are the top two guys at Middleweight and both have got tremendous power. That’s plenty of reason for this fight happen asap. Plus, maybe the winner could go up a weight class to fight Canelo?
Luis Ortiz vs Andy Ruiz Jr. - Let’s the keep buzz surrounding the Heavyweight division going by making these two fight it out. Similar to Rigondeaux, I want to see if this can be a good last hurrah for Ortiz, as he’s not getting any younger. I’m also sure Mexican and Cuban fans are going to be paying very close attention to this one; they’ll definitely be filling up the stadium too.
