Who’s the next great HW boxing champ?

After the Klit bro era - AJ was the next big thing in the division. But his reign only lasted 3yrs. Fury is the new king of the division and I don’t think he’ll survive the end of 2022 with a belt. And AJ is mentally shot - he was too dumb to let Hearn ruin his career and too ****** never to have a great boxing mind around him.

So as we look into the future - which prospects have what it takes to dominate the next era?

Only boxers in their 20s, pls.

Fury will go down as an ATG, and AJ was not robbed of a "great" career. He never had the talent to be great to begin with. Jalolov and Anderson to answer your question.

It’s Fury’s era for as long as he wants it to be.

Guys like Sanchez, Hrgovic, Jalolov, Anderson etc all have potential but I doubt any of them have the kind of potential to become an elite HW like a Fury.

AJ didn't have a reign. At no point was he the legitimate champion of the division, nor was Wilder.
Tyson Fury (d. Wilder for vacant title)
        Tyson Fury (retired)
        Wladimir Klitschko
        Lennox Lewis
        Hasim Rahman
        Lennox Lewis
        Shannon Briggs
        George Foreman
        Michael Moorer
        Evander Holyfield
        Rid**** Bowe
        Evander Holyfield
        Buster Douglas
        Mike Tyson
        Michael Spinks
        Larry Holmes
        Muhammad Ali
        Leon Spinks
        Muhammad Ali
        George Foreman
        Joe Frazier
        Muhammad Ali
        Sonny Liston
        Floyd Patterson
        Ingemar Johansson
        Floyd Patterson
        Rocky Marciano
        Jersey Joe Walcott
        Ezzard Charles
        Joe Louis
        James Braddock
        Max Baer
        Primo Carnera
        Jack Sharkey
        Max Schmeling
        Gene Tunney
        Jack Dempsey
        Jess Willard
        Jack Johnson
        Tommy Burns
        Marvin Hart
        James Jeffries
        Bob Fitzsimmons
        James Corbett
        John Sullivan

These are the only true heavyweight champions of the modern era. Everyone else is just a claimant.

These dirty trolls are still here. SMH

You can’t be elite with zero unifications and 1 title defence in 15 yrs. I guess Wlad and Vitali weren’t legitimate champions because Lennox retired. And he actually beat Wlad.

After Wlad, only one HW reigned supreme and that’s the guy with multiple unifications and title defences.

          Regardless, don’t derail my thread.

Interesting thread ****Em; I would argue for Jared Anderson.

Sure, like most prospects he is untested but he has been giving Fury some work in sparring.

If he keeps his head on straight and is brought up the right way I see him being a future star in the HW division.

Nobody really stands out, and Fury is only 33 - he has plenty of time to reign if he wants to. As for who can be a threat, I liked what I saw from the kid last weekend, Jared Anderson. He's young and shows promise. Best chance is Hrgovic, the man deserves and is dying for a shot at the big leagues. My dark horse is Murat Gassiev. That could be the fanboy in me though - but if he just tightens up a little more head movement and develops a real jab, he can pose any HW significant problems. He looked a bit out of shape last time, so it's definitely a tall order. Call it fanboyism.

Lastly, any of the recent Olympic medalists obviously have a good chance. As an example Richard Torrez, who earned Silver last year and is only 22.

Frank Sanchez. He's only 29, very young.

I’m going Sonny Conto out of Philadelphia if I picked one .

Vlad Sirenko is also fighting Rudenko this weekend he’s creeping up .

Out of the U.K guys I’d probably go with Johnny Fisher ,but hard to tell a lot of talent there to .
