Tony Thornton dies

Yet another boxer, and a fine one, has died this year. Tony Thornton, known as the Punching Postman, died on thursday from the injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on the 30th August. He beat John Scully, Dave Tiberi, Merqui Sosa and Tyrone Frazier, Joe's nephew. He fought and lost to Roy Jones, James Toney, Steve Collins and Chris Eubank. Rest in peace warrior.

It says September the 10th on Boxrec, and this article says he sustained the injuries on the 30th August so it ties in, presumably he was hospitalised after the crash then died from the injuries 11 days later.

But of a funny bump though, after all this time.
