The reality is that he's a lying , corruot douchebag and that sanctioning bodies are a disease. The worst thing to hapoen in boxing is that any ****** can make a sanctioning body and 50 thousand Champions. I don't care who has the belts, I know who the best are.isagj likes this.

"We had Lomachenko-Lopez. Lopez-Kambosos. Haney-(Yuriorkis) Gamboa. Haney-(Jorge) Linares. (Ryan) Garcia-(Luke) Campbell. [Haney-Diaz] was a tremendous fight. I will take that route. Great activity, we’re seeing the best boxing division which is lightweight.”
Only one of these was a meaningful fight in the division between top guys, Lomachenko vs Lopez. Lopez vs Kambosos was a cherry pick gone wrong. I know he was a mandatory but mandatories only happen when the champion wants them to. GGG was Canelo's mandatory for years and it never happened. Lopez could have just moved up in weight rather than face this guy. He faced him because it was supposed to be a mismatch. Same with Haney vs Gamboa and Haney vs old Linares. Campbell lost every round to Loma pretty much and almost got stopped at the end. I get that it's Loma but the point is that fight should have been Ryan vs Loma, not Ryan vs Campbell. Jojo Diaz is not even the top guy at 126 let alone 130 or 135.
If the WBC franchise title had resulted in more fights between these guys: Loma, Lopez, Haney, Garcia, Shakur, Josh Taylor, and Tank, then that could have at least been used as an excuse to keep it. But it hasn't. It's done the opposite. It allowed Haney to get a belt without facing any champion. I'm not arguing whose fault it was, I'm just saying that was the end result. Maybe if the WBC had enforced that Loma would not be able to keep any form of the WBC belt if he did not fight Haney, then Loma would have made sure to sneak that fight in before Lopez.
So the Franchise Belt is not even doing what Mauricio claimed it is. And obviously, it's doing all sorts of bad things that he ignored. Get rid of it! And stop spreading bs no one believes.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 12-13-2021, 01:19 PM.Joey's Place likes this.

Unbelievably, I think this guy has a point of sorts. This decision has coincided with the advent of some retrospectively interesting or intriguing, if not blockbuster, matches.
But it all just begs the question: if you ordain the establishment of an extraneous ‘championship’ belt in order to circumvent mandatory challengers, then precisely what championship credentials does the belt have? In fact, why bother with it at all? Just play fast and loose with mandatory challengers as always.
And within my last point lies the answer. WBC we’re already stiffing no.1 contenders before the ‘franchise’, but with this belt, they can pre-emptively head off any legal challenges with a form of pseudo-legitimisation WHILE coining it in with multiple title fights.Last edited by P to the J; 12-13-2021, 02:34 PM.
