What do people see in Whyte that many think he can upset Fury

He hasn't really looked all that good in his last couple fights. He got sparked by an ancient povetkin....

he didn't look all that impressive against Rivas... he won the fight, but Rivas rocked him a few times and was able to put him down

he looked bad against Parker, who some think won the fight.... he hasn't really looked good since the Lucas Browne fight

his KO against Chisora was nice in the 2nd fight but also many thought Chisora won against him in the first

    i just don't see how this isn't a Fury-Chisora 2 situation all over again

Yeah he hasnt looked good in the past, but what he does have is power. Thats how he can upset Fury

But Fury in all honesty as mcuh as im not a fan,i gotta admit hes just too long and too skilled for Whyte, probably gonna run around and jab his face in like he did Chisora

Has nothing to do with that they see in Whyte, everything to do with what they see in Fury.

The man is as unpredictable as the weather. Goes life and death with Otto Wallin, then blasts out Wilder in 2 rounds.

You never know which Fury will show up. Will someone as uninteresting as Whyte keep him motivated?

I think those guys just don't like Fury. Of course he can upset him, but it's very unlikely.

It's probably Joshua fans pushing the narrative

I can't speak for others but I don't see Whyte having much of a chance if Fury is Fury.

The reason I want to see the fight tough is because Whyte is overdue a title shot regardless of how likely I view him having a chance. He has paid his dues more than anyone else in my opinion.

Fury has only fought Wilder the entire time for years barring Wallin who’s the only other fighter worth mentioning. Fury won’t learn anything fighting Wilder ,it’s not a secret blueprint for him to win that fight .

Whyte will cause him to be weary of not just head shots but body punching . I think posters forget body punching happens in boxing ,and Whyte is arguably the best at that so writing him off just on that is not realistic no matter who looked like what . The smart fan will know challengers step up their game in title fights so expect a motivated Whyte which is exactly why he could cause the upset .

Whyte will present a tougher physical fight then Wilder will or could ,this shouldn’t be to hard to figure out because Whyte comes with rough house tactics, inside fighting and a decent active jab ,all absent in Wilders arsenal .

On paper Fury should not have any issues with Whyte. Boxing is the theater of the unknown as I continue to say and you just never know, so many variables in/out of the ring and one mistake and a fight is over.

Still, Whyte is a 4 round fighter and then fights like he is drunk. When ever Wilder was out of position or out of balance Fury did notice and capitalized. I expect no different against Whyte. Fury will get up for this fight because Whyte is a crap talker like Wilder and he thrives in that atmosphere.

I agree with redeemer, Whyte presents a different set of weapons than Fury has seen for a while, I also have some concerns about exactly how "prime" Fury is at this point, due to his health issues during the layoff.

Fully expect a fury win here mind you, but I don't want to see him fighting on for too much longer, I don't see him staying athletically prime deep into his late 30s, due to his lifestyle.

He’s got a chance but I think it would require an unfocused Fury, if only for a moment. If the odds are better than 10-1 for Whyte by KO, I might take that.
