The main difference is you didn't see GGG lose as many rounds against bums

WTF lol,the disparity between the skill set of those two are as bout as wide as your grip on reality homeboy if that's what you think. GGG beat the P4P on the planet in thier first fight, dgaf what the cards read, everyone besides Canelos nutthuggers saw that...while Wilder got the breaks beat off his ass by a pillow fisted Fury.

Different times, higher expectations. People today still list off the likes of Tucker, Tubbs, and Botha as great wins for Mike Tyson, but if Wilder had those exact 3 guys on his record, if they were modern fighters, they'd just be bums. For the record, of course Wilder beats Mike Tyson by KO. Douglas BUSTERED him up almost every round, whilst giving him a boxing lesson. Wilder is an elite, any era HW. People talk like he beat an old Ortiz. Ortiz was prime and is still going strong. Wins over Scott, Jennings, and Thompson put him in the HOF. Nash out.

Remembered by me as a bit of an experiment.

Can you take a failed basketballer with great physical attributes and make him a champion through matchmaking, WBC-manipulation and promotion?

          Yes you can.

He had to fight someone at some point to give his career some credibility. They built Ortiz specifically for him and enough people were fooled for it to work to some extent.

Then they tried to make a big fight against the 'lineal champion' when they figured he was in no shape to fight. A calculated risk that made him a lot of money but ended his career.

He's comfortably the worst multi defence champion in history. But they made it happen. You've got to applaud that level of over achievement. He was built into a decent character too and gave us some good nights.

Wilders biggest win is Ortiz? If Wilder retires now you cannot rate him above Joshua. You can't even rate him above Ruiz.

Who does Joshua have? Klitschko is his biggest win, but we all know Klitschko was past his prime and retired after that fight. And you can't give that much credit to Fury for the Klitschko win because that was the fight before Joshua fought him. Klitschko was showing signs he was declining in the Jennings fight way before he fought Fury and Joshua. Still Joshua beating Klitschko was more impressive than what Wilder has for a win on his record.

Even Ruiz has a bigger win than these guys. Joshua was in his prime when Ruiz beat him. That win was more impressive than any of these fights.

I said what he was all along which was a manufactured champion albeit with excellent punching power.

Besides for his freakish power though he had very little else to offer, there was never much skill to him, he wasn't accurate, his defence was leaky, punch resistance was ehhh

If the Povetkin fight had happened all them years ago the Wilder story would 100% have ended there but to be fair you can't blame Wilder for Povetkins juicing.

But wilders resume is threadbare, you are talking Szpilka being a top 5, win for him.

My honest appraisal of Wilder is that HONESTLY I think Otto Wallin would beat him. I think any fighter who is young, has sound fundamentals and can hit a little bit would take him, he's so open, they just made sure to keep him away from anyone who had that combination of attributes.
