I lost respect for Loma as a competitor when he said he would not go up to 140 lbs to avenge his loss vs Teofimo. I get he is already small for 135, but it's only 5 more lbs, and even to welterweight where the big fights are, it's only 12 more lbs. How many fighters in history have gone to whatever weight they needed to go to to erase the loss on their record?

A few years ago, Michael Montero, who seems to have inside contacts with the camps of a lot of these fighters, was saying Loma could eventually fight Josh Taylor at 140 lbs in Scotland. Taylor is welterweight size! He is way bigger than Teofimo! And that is the matchup fans want to see! Best vs best! So how come back then, when Loma had put on less muscle, 140 was an option, but not now? Disappointing. Some boxers today talk such a big game, about fighting for legacy, but then they make excuses not to take the biggest legacy fights. Nothing Loma can do at 135 can create the same legacy as him doing it at 140 or 147.

Floyd would pass out at the mere suggestion.

Loma is left to beg for a Tank payday since he lost to Teo without a rematch clause.

To read him talk about boxing politics after he dropped the belt to avoid Haney because Haney isn’t with TR is disgraceful.

He whines about Tank and Floyd avoiding him but forgets to mention Bob strong arming Nicholas Walters, keeping him out for almost a year, and then making him fight Loma at 130 rather than fighting him immediately at 126 which gave Walters a better chance to win.

Loma is getting exactly what he gave when he had more negotiating leverage and power.

As they say it’s different when the rabbit has the gun.

Floyd would never let Gervonta fight Loma or Haney. Too dangerous.

Avoiding Haney? To fight the more powerful Lopez…dont fly.

Loma at 140? Cmon - he already small for 135. Add 5 lbs is easy? Your forgetting- Loma will weigh 140 when he enters the ring …his opponent, like Lopez, will enter the ring 150 plus. Loma would be at a huge size and weight disadvantage…147 for Loma is ridiculous to even contemplate! Lopez and his Dad are the ones who said they would not give Loma a rematch, they said “what for”.

Yes, Loma conveniently omitted that fact. So if he plays those games, it's not surprising others are doing the same to him. Although, to be fair, it seems Loma understands that.
