The best option is to sit out for a while, kinda like George Foreman did back in the day. I think Wilder is athletic enough to come back after a year or two layoff. Those blows to the head in Wilder/Fury II and III take quite a while to heal properly, but they can heal. The brain takes longer from severe trauma. The punch in round 3 of Fight III laid him down because it rekindled the trauma from the punches in Fight II. It takes time to heal past that trauma ... he wasn't far enough along healing in Fight III. Only his tenacity and strong will kept him in it through round 10 (dropping Fury in the 4th shows what a warrior this guy is even when wounded badly).

The HW will keep for a year or two. Wilder can train, get strong, heal, and watch and learn (as Foreman did) ... and come back still a devastating boxer. Earn some good money and maybe extend/expand his legacy. That would be the best and safest course to return IMO. It would also be a treat for all real fight fans ... Wilder will always be capable of excitng an arena and one of the true warriors of the game.

That said, if he decides to retire he certainly has earned his place in the annals of boxing. He would be a great commentator, and probably a valuable member of a training team. He could help many fighters in many ways. Like others his earned respect in the game will last forever.

Wilder if he took 2 years off or even a year it would then take him another year to get the ring rust off because he is not a natural boxer .

His best bet is to fight an undefeated puncher like Demsey McKean ,a winnable fight because I believe Wilder will slowdown by 2023 if he’s still around and get knocked out by a division full of big men with punching power .

Foreman didn’t rely on speed or knockouts really ,he had durability and great natural talent . Wilder is the complete opposite who relies on athletic abilities. If Wilder leaves fir 2 years it’s basically over . I give him a 2 year timeline to make something happen if possible which is still against the odds , after the 2 Fury losses .

I think most disagree with you and that most think anyone better than stiverne or ortiz beats wilder and up to wilder to prove people wrong.
I think most lose to fury so wilder can't retire because of that. I'm sure wilder still has hunger to ko people

            RIP (Retire in pace) Champ!

Nothing left to prove, he took care of business with 10 successful title defences against a murders row featuring names like Breazeale, Washington, Szpilka, the list goes on! His best win against might have been against a 50yo Cuban with high blood pressure but no one else could be bothered to fight that guy! And fury only won cos of heavy costume, snakes in the grass, spiked water, egg weights, bought off ref, and Gypsy Juju!

Looking forward to practising my twerking in front of my mirror while wearing a power rangers costume (not too heavy doe) and my new unisex scent soon!

            You are still our king!

if they do, most don’t know shiet about boxing.

anyone that knows boxing could see Tyson made the adjustments in the 2nd & 3rd fight to come in heavier and use his size and weight to lean on Wilder, forcing him to almost carry him to stay upright. This made Wilder extremely fatigued, which slowed him down and diminished his power. This, along with Fury outstanding boxing skill and iq, was the perfect combination to beat Wilder. Unless you’re 6’7, almost 300pounds and have fury’s skills and iq, Wilder will always have a good chance at beating you because of his one punch fight ending power.

You just need to read anything about wilder now and the consensus is that fury has opened floodgates to anyone beating wilder now.
yes his power has got him out of jail many times when hes.losing, but maybe those days really are over.
I agree with you in the past people thought only fury beats him but that's not case now

People really over look what a brutal beat down that second fight was. Can’t remember a beat down between two top fighters as bad as that. A Fighter can never be the same again after that. This was much worse than the Gatti Mayweather fight people always bring up as a beat down, and it was against a guy who was supposed to be the feared bully by a guy who was supposed to be feather fisted. I don’t think Wilder comes back to be a top heavyweight again.
