Hmm. Mannix gave JoJo Diaz 3 rounds. I gave him one.

Haney sure hit a lot of times below the belt. If you think above thr belt body shots sapp your energy then you simply haven't been hit below the belt. Mora gave like 8 warnings to Haney and still no point deduction. I am actuslly surprised Jojo had the energy for that last round surge.

Also a lot of illegal posts by Haney with the lead hand from round 1 to round 12. This is an illegeal move and Haney didn't even get a warning.

This was Haney's best and worst performance in a way. Best becauss he faced an elite in his prime former Olympian in Jojo and he was sharp and strong. Worst because he got hit clean on the kisser and to the gut so many times if zjojo was a power puncher Haney would've vern out on his feet in some of these rounds.

Now Jojo tried to fight the Canelo fight and I thought that it might work down the stretch but Jojo doesn't have the pop of Canelo. Again, Devin got hit a lot and he rarely gets hit with any flush shots.

I say it every fight he does. Why TF is Mannix scoring fights? He has literally no background in boxing. He was a yahoo basketball writer.
If he’s talking boxing or commentating then fine but why does DAZN have him as their Larry Merchant when they have actual professional boxers on the show?

I thought the judges were pretty accurate with the 117-111 and 116-112 scores.

3 - 4 rounds went to Diaz. He was in the fight, but he cleanly lost. He definitely had his moments. Even in the rounds he lost, he was competitive in them and he never seemed to be in serious trouble. Actually, it looked like Diaz hurt Haney more than Haney hurt Diaz. Diaz had a very good high guard, so a lot of Haney’s punches were landing on gloves. Haney had some trouble trying to get around the guard, but the offense he did put forth kept Diaz on the outside. That, with Haney’s reach, really won him the bout and kept Diaz from getting off, outside of a few flurries here and there.

By illegal posts you mean like holding his jab out like a stiff arm? Because I noticed that too and wasn't warned at all when most refs say something about it eventually. Also, he was warned a few times for the low blows then instead of taking a point when he should have Mora illustrated the beltline for him... Kind of got his hand held through that but he still would have won with a point deduction.

Diaz won 3-4 rounds. Haney definitely got the win but it was surprising how many solid lefts Diaz was landing.

Yeah, extending the jab like that and pushing with it is definitely against the rules of boxing and Haney never got warned. It's a wrestling move to keep your opponent from getting inside position. The low blows take a lot out of you. If Jojo for instance wanted to push harder in the second half he was for sure compromised.

Haney was the better fighter but take tge low blows away and the arm posts and who knows how the dynamic of the fight could've changed. It's a game of inches they keep telling us about.
