For someone who had only had 8 pro fights, he's had an amazing amount of press coverage, including on boxingscene. And a few posters here have claimed that they thought he was a potential world beater, although goodness knows why.

I still think Fury can win a british title, but not for about 20 more fights

The thing is Mcdermott is a wiley old dog, and he did beat danny williams (in my eyes at least) he drew Fury into fighting his fight. Fury was just too out of shape, and too inexperienced, he didnt know what to do when he hit Mcdermott and John didnt go down. Fury didnt use his physical advantages by fighting in close with mcmuffin, basically it was a slopy inexperienced performance, but dont hang the kid for it.

Dont think i've ever seen Fury in great shape or even semi-cut. I know Mcdermott is not really a big puncher but at least Fury showed some whiskers. Never really looked hurt.

He looked lost though for half the fight, like he just ran out of ideas. But yeah he did show some heart in there. Hopefully this fight will make him a little more humble, his confidence is good but he overestimated himself ta ****.
