I swear every day that goes by Davis literally reminds me of Broner. Same way Broner was able to pick up meaningless belts making noise to appeal the casual viewers fighting no hopers for easy paydays until they underestimated Chino and that pretty much killed the Broner persona. I think Davis is heading for the same outcome, maybe that's why Ellerbe doesn't want to risk the golden goose until they squeeze all the juice out of it. They learned their lesson with Broner

The Davis machine is crafted well by Ellerbe, and Davis can fight...but he has no plans to fight the top guys.
Overpay is bull****, make the best fights and stop making excuses. Ellerbe guided Mayweather well,
but Mayweather fought an OLD Manny Pacquao...put Davis in with a real top lion, stop putting him in with
second tier guys.

I'm one to give tank a bunch of shit, but he is only 25. Maybe what Floyd and Ellerbe is doing with him is sublime genius and will make him a tailored made cash cow and successor to Canelo.
