This wasn’t a robbery in any way. Brandon could’ve been given the decision but giving it to Fulton wasn’t terrible.

Credit to Fulton for making his points including reminding Brandon these were “his fans” and that contributed to their opinion.

Would love to see a rematch but Brandon said he’s already planned to move up.

No where near a robbery. I thought it was close and I thought Brandon won close. He did hurt Fulton a few times, but I can’t call it a robbery.

I think Figueroa clearly did better work on the inside and won most of the rounds that followed that script.

But its feasible for a judge at ringside to have seen Fulton win the early part of these rounds, and then score the firefight/phonebooth part as even (hard to see), and thus give the round to Fulton. So its not really a robbery (as in rigged), its just the risk you take when fighting so much on the inside and attack the body- those shots arent as clear to a judge sitting with their vantage point. Hopefully that body investment pays off in other ways later on, but it doesnt always win rounds.

That being written, I thought Fulton was foolish to continually engage in such a fight. He was clearly more successful when fighting off the back foot.
I don’t think he had a choice, Figueroa is relentless, big, strong, and with clearly a cast iron chin. Anyone who fights him will have to go to war

I had it 7-5 Fulton on a great fight. Figueroa not getting dis-encouraged and continued to come forward made it a fantastic fight. No robbery here.

When people said that Castaņo vs Charlo was a Big robbery, the difference in power punches landed was 50.

In this fight Figueroa landed 50 more power punches than Fulton, and Fulton only landed like 15 more jabs.

In the best of the case it was a draw, Fulton won because he was the A SIDE of the fight.

Good fight and I agree it was close enough to go either way. I agreed with Fulton getting the W due to cleaner more effective punches. I think the fighters faces after the fight told the story of who was more effective. Figueroa’s face was a mess while Fulton barely had any scratches despite defending against 1000 punches thrown. Figueroa was disrespectful in the post fight with all robbery bs as if the fight was clear cut for him.

You don’t judge fights based on punch stats. Figueroa only landed more because he threw so much more. Remember, defense counts in judging fights. Fulton landed at a much higher percentage and more importantly he landed the cleaner shots. Figueroa did a lot of good work but a lot of his punches were arm punches. Fulton has to get credit for being able to make him miss while countering with the cleaner shots.

Maybe, but there were rounds where he was able to stick and move a bit more, and he seemed to do better. But then his (Fulton's) corner encouraged him to be more aggressive and attack- I felt that was the wrong move. To me it seemed more that Figueroa was wearing Fulton down throughout the round, and Fulton couldnt keep up the movement.

Close Competitive EXCELLENT Fight! No Robbery though, I have it 7-5 Fulton but would not have been upset with a Draw but Fulton was snapping and turning Brandon head with Clean accurate punches to the head. Unfortunately boxing in general and Judges still don't honor and respect body punches because no question Brandon hurt Fulton to the body multiple times but Fulton just like he did vs Leo he was some how able to withstand all those body punches

Great Fight! Maybe they run it back in the future but Brandon stock still goes up despite losing that one, I don't think anybody else at 122 deals with his size and pressure like Fulton did. Fulton vs Aleem is going to be another great fight at 122. As for Brandon, plenty of Options at 122 or 126, can go up to 126 where it is plenty of big fights: Ray Vargas, Leo Santa Cruz, Navarrete (who is a Free Agent) all amazing stylistic fights
