I give him a break. He was like a 3 day replacement. Bika was supposed to fight up until 3 days ago or so lol
Looks like no one besides Pulev trained tbh. The MMA guys looked sharper. Weird card overall
Pulev was smart enough to train with an MMA guy and you could see it because he controlled the clinching for the brief time the fight went on. Mir just had nowhere to go once he realize Pulev was better in the clinch as well.
I disagree with the excuses here. Even considering the situation, a boxer should not lose to mma fighters in a boxing setting. The boxers in this event were embarrassing for the sport!
It is what it is. MMA fighters (obviously excluding some like Askren) are better with their hands than some MMA hating boxing fans want to believe imo. Obviously nowhere near elite but plenty of them are decent journeyman level. They do train their hands pretty extensively as part of their sport after all so certain core skills are there.
I find these MMA vs boxing events baity and annoying anyway tbh. If a boxer beats an MMA fighter under rules designed to take away skills that the MMA fighter could use and force them to box, its meaningless. If an MMA fighter beats a boxer under MMA rules its because they've extensively trained things that the boxer hasnt had any experience with, or much less experience, so its also meaningless. They're just different sports.
It'd be nice if instead of **** stirring (and obsessing over getting attention from Dana White for some weird reason) Triller would do what RJJ did about a decade ago and just put on some dual MMA and boxing events with solid quality fights for both, lord knows they spend enough money to be able to do that if they wanted to. It'd be cool to see some MMA in a ring again too, you rarely see it now.
