Khan-Salita Has Two Weeks, Maidana is Next

BoxingScene.com was advised that the WBA issued a resolution on Thursday that orders the camps of junior welterweight champion Amir Khan and mandatory challenger Dmitriy Salita to reach a deal within 14 days - or a call for a purse bid will be issued. Khan-Salita is slated to take place in early December in the UK. The date of December 5 has been mentioned a few times. [details]

I hope Salita doesn't price himself out. He needs to take this fight, even if it's for peanuts. The fact that you can get a title shot without ever facing a top 20 guy (top 50?) is pretty amazing.

If Khan wins he will no doubt rather be stripped of his belt than face Maidana.

Look for Khan to beat down bum-beater Salita (how on earth this guy has got a title shot is beyond me - Oh wait! No it's not - it's the WBA - aka a joke) and then duck the crude slugger Maidana.

I think Salita has a better chance against Khan than Maidana. Maidana is a tough dude, but stylistically pretty crude, and perfect for Khan's new style. I don't think Salita will win, but he's got cuter moves than Maidana.
