I don't like the word protected either pal, but it sums it up I feel. Those match ups you mention are all great fights, but they're all also in-house. Now that's fine. But you still have to make the best fights. So why line Gervonta up against Romero/Cruz, when he could have GRJ? Gervonta has been division hopping and that's because of a lack of in-house options. He should be fighting in one division and trying to clean it out. Crawford, Taylor, Usyk and Canelo stylee for example. Division hopping ( which I'm not a fan of ) is only acceptable when your fighting the very best, and that unfortunately is not the case here. I get what your saying about the networks handing out cash, and your completely right, but the co-promotions need to happen much more often. And I get that sometimes people are not gonna agree, but to not even try? Now that I just don't get.

Instant gratification meets technology. At one time, all fights were free on the radio. Now people buy content for their big screen to justify having it. You have to cut them off at the appliance store to stop them.Comment

Loma lost to a multi time champion in his second fight, he also lost to Lopez a very talented undefeated boxer. Cruz lost to a club fighter and drew with another club fighter. Nowhere near remotely the same. Also notice you could not dispute that Mayweather Promotions certainly are protecting Porky.Comment

nah - pbc/floyd will keep lining up the b-level Hispanic no-hopers for huge ppv main event mismatches. Hard to understand why fans would actually pay for a fight which is a blatant cherry-pick where absolutely nobody is picking the overmatched opponent to win. Just watch the inevitable ko a few hrs later.

Gervonta Davis will take on Isaac Cruz on Dec. 5 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles to headline a Showtime pay-per-view. The lightweight contender Cruz (22-1-1, 15 KOs) is a replacement opponent substituting in for Rolando Romero, who was pulled from the announced fight following a series of sexual assault allegations.
[Click Here To Read More]Didn't Haney offered to replace Romero? And Ellerbe went berserk trashing Hearn. That’s the only thing I can say because nobody else is fighting top guys. Name them if they’re fighting. It’s nobody. What’s the guy [Haney] that is going to fight right before me [on Dec. 4]. JoJo [Diaz] is not a top guy. He’s not.”Comment

No. I don't criticize him for that. I am pointing out that he allowed his own hype to die because of his avoidance of a VERY legitimate rematch claim by Lomachenko. THEN he goes on and avoids fighting Kambosos for ~half a year.
That's all Tank has done is fight 2nd tier fighters but yet you"ll critize Teo for fighting and beating arguably beating the best fighter at 135lb in Loma? What Teo has done after that is irrelevant. What is relevant,is he accepted a fight,a fight that brought Tank nearly to tears when Mayweather suggested it,and went out and pulled it off. No,Tank isn't taking "risk" out there,a risk would've been making that Loma fight.
And this so called "paperwork" sent out to Ryan...you have proof of that or you just want to parrot what Mayweathers masseuse tweeted with no proof?
So, you want him to get praise for beating Lomachenko but then go into hiding from every fight that comes his way? Even a C-level fighter in Kambosos?
And Tank 100% took a risk to fight at 140lbs. The man is the same size as Rigondeaux. That is a big risk to be a blown up featherweight fighting at junior welterweight.
Even Ryan was at the table to fight Gervonta. His own words. So, what do you mean?
Once negotiations got started, Ryan pull away to go do an f.ucking exhibition as an active professional boxer. That's the most clown s/hit you can do. To the point even Canelo says Ryan is wasting his potential.Comment

You get it, but you don't like it! Have you ever seen a co-promotion between UFC and Bellator? What about McDonald's and Burger King? You ever see the NCAA Football Championship on FOX and ABC? Tank vs. GRJ should've happened! I know Cruz brings a different audience, but damn! Spence vs. Crawford should've happened! I know Pacquiao brings a different audience, but damn!
