How do you see it going?

What does Crawford have to give him the edge?

What does Canelo have to give him the edge?

    I'll go first.

    Analysis:

Crawford: He has power and accuracy at long and medium distance, but don't think it will work well with Canelo marching him down.

    Canelo:
He is a master at controlling distance. His IQ is higher. His defense is better (head movement, high guard, foot movement). His body shots are second to none. He can fight any style or stance extremely well. He can apply extreme pressure and leave minimal openings while coming in. Canelo has a Proven elite chin. Canelo is a master at setting up traps. Canelo and Eddy always have an epic plan. Canelo has extremely proven determination and will power against super humans(GGG). All of Canelo's punches Jabs to power punches are only thrown with full leverage and bad intentions.

    Fight burn down:
    Canelo would march Crawford down.
Crawford will start out orthodox and get dominated worse than Porter was so easily able to do.
Canelo will make Crawford respect his power right out the gate.
Crawford will be discouraged and switch to Southpaw.
Canelo will continue to March forward and step out and destroy Crawfords body.
Crawford will desperately try to throw combinations that worked on bums but will miss and get brutally countered.
Canelo will put himself on the ropes and give Crawford a chance to show off to his fans. Crawford will be to scared to do anything.
Canelo will put his hands up and shrug and then continue to do work.
Crawford will wear down after 7 rounds of getting brutalized and get knocked the fk out in the 8th.
Canelo has the peds, the judges, the clauses, the fix... Yeap, Canelo wins.

As Crawford fans, how do you all think the fight would play out if they were the same weight? What does Crawford have that would give him the edge over Canelo?
Well Reg, I am not a Crawford fan per se... I like Canelo and Crawford both about equally, I might root for Bud if they fought because I do think of the two Canelo's fan base is getting the bigger swell...

If they fought at an equal weight... toss up fight as far as I could see. Ill put it like this: There is winning a fight, as in showing some measure of victory over the other guy. Something like when Crawford beat Porter... Even if the fight went the distance, Porter lost because Crawford figured him out and was tagging him. Then there is winning a fight that the judges saw maybe a few more punches, a round you got that won it... Like when Floyd beat Pac. Neither guy showed domination in that fight, neither guy risked anything... Did Mayweather maybe hit Manny a few more times? maybe... Lol.

To me either guy in Canelo Versus Crawford might have one more better round, maybe tabulate a few more shots... But I have no basis for knowing if either guy would show more down the stretch, or have a better fight plan, etc. Both guys are very accomplished and can do a lot in the ring... A few considerations though:

        1. Could Canelo counter Crawford with the speed of Terrence?
        2. Could Crawford take it to the body and chin with no complications?

I keep seeing people using Lara as a measuring stick when it comes to a mythical matchup between Canelo and Crawford (If both were naturally in the same weight class). The difference between Lara and Crawford is that Lara is much more defensively responsible. Crawford gets hit way too much and that is not a good thing if you are going against a guy like Canelo. Crawford has the slightly better jab and movement but Canelo has better power, defense, inside fighting, head movement, and is actually the better counter-puncher. In a mythical matchup, I see this fight being like Jacobs vs Canelo but slightly more competitive. To beat a guy like Canelo, you have to have slickness, elite defense, great athleticism, or be a skilled brawler. If weight was equal across the board, the only guys who could beat Canelo is Ennis, Spence, Prime GGG, Loma, and Usky.

If Canelo doesn't knock Crawford out I see, Canelo losing a close fight. Canelo a better inside fighter, body puncher, has more power but Crawford has better footwork, and most importantly can adjust better.

And btw I wouldn't specifically call myself a Crawford fan, I like him as much as Canelo or Spence

This is exactly what Kelly Pavlik RECENTLY said, Canelo at 23 yrs of age fought Floyd and Lara. Canelo then turned 24 when he fought Angulo. The point is who was Crawford fighting at 23 years of age?
