Crawford is the same guy who claims he “beat the man who beat the man” when he beat Horn.

    He likes to exaggerate.

It was a very close fight. By the 5th round, many in the rbr thread had it 4-1 Porter.

Crawford’s response to Porter’s scoring blows was to shake his head and smile, as the judges gave Porter those rounds.

The fight really got into Crawford’s favor in the last round of the fight. And even with that dominating round, 2 of the 3 judges had it 5 rounds to 4 at the end of the stoppage. Crawford was up of course, due to the two KD’s. But it was 5 rounds to 4. That’s called a close fight.

Crawford isn’t doing himself any favors, talking about he had it under control. Everyone saw what happened. A guy who had retirement in his mind going into the fight, gave Crawford his toughest fight since maybe, I would say, Andrey Klimov. And yes, Crawford beat Klimov 10 rounds to 0 in a wide UD. But it was very clear that Crawford was very frustrated and found Klimov’s style very annoying. He looked bad in that fight. It was worse than watching Mayweather vs Baldomir.

You guys on here are funny! You act like you have never seen a Crawford fight before. He has always been a slow starter. He works his way into the fight and slowly figures out what works and what doesn't. Once he does that, then he hits the gas.

Shawn Porter is a tough, durable and smart boxer. He's more technical than people give him credit for. He's not an easy out for anybody and any boxing fan should know that. With Porter's style, he is going to get his shots in. He got his shots in against Spense too. The question in this fight was always could Porter hurt Bud. Once it was clear that he couldn't, it was looked to me like it was just a matter of time before Bud stepped it up.

Hopefully, we get Spence-Crawford next, so we can stop seeing the nonstop chatter in the forums about who's ducking who. They are both champs, so let's see them get it on.

Two, the old adage of styles make fights come to play.
At this point, the idea of Spence beating Crawford has taken a hit hit it’s still a 50/50 fight. I lean towards Spence depending on how good/bad his eye is.
Sure, but Crawford floored Porter twice and got the stoppage, a lot better than any other Porter opponent

Spence also had close fights with Brook, and looked sub par in a fairly clear victory against Garcia

50/50 is a fair assessment though. Think we’ve arrived at the same conclusion, just gone about it differently

You make fair points but I feel like you’re missing one important thing - styles make fights. Just because Crawford stopped Porter or dropped him twice is not the criteria to judge a Spence fight.

Floyd mopped the floor with Marquez. Yet Marquez was Manny’s boogeyman.
Manny destroyed Hatton in 2 rounds yet Floyd went 10 rounds with him.
Head to head, Floyd bested Manny. It all falls into the style makes fights.

At this point it’s fair to say that Crawford is a better technical fighter than Spence BUT Spence is a rugged durable fighter, and slightly bigger.

but Spence arguably lost to Porter, was hit clean plenty of times

how do you reconcile those two things? Genuine question
Spence fought Porter and beat him at his own game. He boxed the ears off Mikey and he could have KO'ed him being honest, not to mention he went to another man's home and took his belt. ( KB did fight at mw but he didn't look shot against Spence.) I'm just adding that to say Spence is very versatile more than what he's given credit for.

Bud fought his fight and Porter had success in a very close fight. I don't think Spence was buzzed like Bud was and I think Bud would go down if he got hit flush against Spence

The fight wasn’t close. Only protective Canelo and Spence fans thought so. Spence fans are just scared of Bud, and Canelo fans are already crying and scared that Bud is seen as pfp better than Canelo. Exclude these mofos from logical boxing talk. Reason: **** blowing their favorite fighters.
