Arias would probably do better than Montiel, so I'm not against this fight.
It was a catchweight at 158 which was probably one of the lightest Arias has been in his pro career. His fights against Rosado and Jacobs were at middleweight as well. It's surprising because Arias doesn't come across as a big guy but I don't think he's ever fought at junior middleweight although I could be wrong.
I'm sure there are other fighters out there that would better prepare him for Canelo but not sure that's the route he will take. I spitballed Arias because it's a fellow PBC affiliated fighter around his weight that feels like a matchup I could see happening.
Cherrypicks gone bad are definitely more entertaining to watch.
It's not even hard to guess who he's not fighting. It's not Benavidez, it's not Andrade.
Others have scheduled fights. The salient point here is his time is due to go back in the ring.
It's almost six months since his last fight. He's supposed to be announcing his next fight now.Comment
