They're both the same age. And he's fighting Crawford at a later point. So,that he believes he's the best he's been in the ring with, that says a lot. If a fighter says something like that he can't possibly be wrong, as he's the one that has faced them. It doesnt prove who's the best. They need to fight for that. All it says is who's the best he's faced, and he's the only one that can know that.Comment

Yeah of course he would have done that, but that would have been an easy fight to make. The Crawford fight isn't. Especially if your promoter has no interest in risking his title. The onus is on Spence to go find a promoter that will. But he won't do that. So in that respect your correct. But if Haymon says " hey Errol. What say we really try to get you the Crawford fight" I'm sure Spence is up for it.
Wrong my friend.... the fighter always has the ability to push/pursue the fight they sincerely desire.... Are you going to try to convince me if Porter had won, Spence would not have started a rematch dialog with Porter (and the boxing community) immediately after the fight?? Coward Spence 100% would have begun the WBO title if in Porter's possession... That was the sole purpose of his attendance!!Comment

Spence’s record is not an impressive one really. His win over Porter was his best by far and that was very close. On my card anyway, if Porter had stayed off the canvas and won the last round instead, it was a draw. His next best win is either Danny Garcia or a damaged Kell Brook.
just my opinion but I don’t think Spence believes he can beat Crawford. I’m not saying he’s afraid of Crawford but he’s making a very nice living without him.

I still believe Kell Brook would’ve beaten Spence if he hadn’t gone up two divisions to fight GGG take a beating, then straight back down to fight Spence. It was career suicide.

Kell Brook before GGG was no joke. The Brook that beat Porter would beat any current welterweight barring Crawford, even that would’ve been a hell of a fight, prime for prime.Comment

too true - probably Porter doesn't think he's missed a step at all but the version that fought Bud is 2 years older than the version that fought Spence - and 2 years the wrong way. Porter was probably under experienced when he fought Brook. But the version that fought Thurman had all the experience but had not lost any of his physical ability and athleticism.
This is the reality. Most fans never ever see this or get it. I said the same thing about GGG when he was 34/35. You are not in your physical prime at that age.
When doing mythical matchups you have to be specific. Peak Ali vs peak Lewis. Or the Spence that beat Brook vs the Crawford that beat Horn.Comment

Crawford and Spence now share two common opponents. Spence stopped Brook in 11, Crawford stopped him in 4. Spence eeked out a 12-rounder vs. Porter, Crawford stopped him in 10. All that separates Spence at WW is a Danny Garcia fight and a couple JWWs (Peterson) and LWs (Mikey) fighting at welter.
Spence is a huge *****. He had all those guys at PBC to fight and barely fought any of them. Crawford's about to surpass him at WW and that's before we even get in to Crawford's accomplishments at LW and JWW.Comment

They close friends of course he would say that but we all saw if Crawford fights the way he did against porter like Spence he definitely losing
