All the best to him, he had a very good career and was a world champion. He has a broadcasting career set up.

If he does ever want to come back for a fight or two, get another head trainer. His dad waved the white towel and it was unnecessary.

Excellent time to bow out. Excellent career and fought just about everyone at welterweight in his era. Looking forward to seeing him continue as a commentator

He said that he was going to retire whether he won or lost this fight. Makes me wonder if his full heart and determination were in this fight. He looked really good for much of the fight but was he all there 100%?

Porter is warrior and he’s been a credit to boxing. I’m going to miss seeing him fight. Good guy with a great personality too!

Yeah I think he done... He came up short too many times.

Gonna miss him in the ring especially considering the state of 147

            Good for him.

To say he did everything in the sport is factually incorrect.

I think he will come out of retirement in next 6 months, he is just very emotional after being stopped for the first time.

He more or less said this to Crawford while they were talking after the fight finished so I’m not surprised. There is a lot more he could do (always applies) but he had a good career regardless.

                    ...

I have said this MANY times about Shawn Porter...

he is a 100% class-act... both inside the ring, and outside the ring... other fighters should admire the way that Porter carries himself

he will be missed... a true class act

thanks for the memories champ !
