*No knives, bats or beer bottles. STREET FIGHT not a ******** gongshow

*Street fight just how Kimbo Slice's street fights are on youtube
and if you dont get that through your tiny brains then you dont belong on boxing scene

*And your you uneducated "BOXING FANS" the shoulder roll is apart of the PHILLY SHELL...and Mayweather always uses that technique ... boxing 101 lessons bitches
As someone who has boxed and done martial arts my entire life. I can tell you for a fact YES!! Even with weapons the shell is still effective.

While it still has the same weaknesses as it would have in boxing, the stance itself is useful in any situation. Knees are slightly bent which makes it useful for movement and shooting in for the takedown. You have 1 arm held low for quick jabs to keep the enemy at a distance and to stuff takedown attempts. Shoulder roll is useful for avoiding knife stabs and placing you in good position for disarms.

It's truely amazing in all aspects of the fight game even if it is difficult to master.

No in a street fight its not good.I do muay thai and if someone were to do that i would kick his elbow and break it.Its better to have a conventional boxing stance with both hands up protecting your face.

The shoulder roll in a street fight? It would be effing disastrous. You still get hit with the shoulder roll but with boxing gloves, it slides over your shoulder and the top of your head. A fist won't. It will get through the little gaps or just crack you on the side/top of your head/temple area. Absolutely terrible to ever think of using that in a street fight.

Not only that but street fights just don't work that way. People don't throw combinations like a boxer. There is, 95% of the time, one big punch thrown (a whopping right hayemaker) by both guys then they wrestle, grapple, swing each other around and then fall over on the ground and wrestle more, occasionally trying to throw punches, headbutt etc.

The best technique, which is a classic bouncers technique is to lean or step back half a step from the hayemaker then counter with your own straight right to the jaw, which is wide open to be hit. You only need to get in one good punch to the jaw and a street fight is all over. If you do get taken to the ground and you know some grappling skills, well then you just better hope he doesn't have buddies that will stomp your head otherwise you've got it won there.

This is not taking into account any weapons of course.

Just remember: People aren't calm in a street fight. It's a spur of the moment thing with massive adrenaline pumping and very rarely do people stay in control. The guy who is calmer or can fight a little usually wins. If, and that's a big 'if', we're talking about a hypothetical one on one situation.

Well the reason I know is also the reason why i really hate all these mmgay sucks and boxing is dying arguments. If these mma ******s werent so high and mighty on relying on just ground and pound they might actually learn a fighting style that'd actually make them much more dominant at their own game. If these boxing fanatics werent so ****phobic they might actually learn some things that may save their life 1 day.
