props to both...it's not easy speaking another language
    You're probably like me.

I don't give a **** what they say, cuz their mouths ain't winning them ****.

I've lived in plenty of countries and have had to learn plenty of languages, in some cases rudimentary knowledge got me by.
To have the balls to speak a language that you don't know very well or aren't terribly good at, with a ton of people looking on, isn't an easy task at all.

At least they give it a shot.

major props of course. not only do they not have a good grasp of english but they are doing public speaking which will be seen by millions of people with bad english takes a lot of balls.

Public speaking has been stated by plenty of surveys as people's 1# fear. But sometimes i wish that boxers or athletes in general use a translator so they can answer the question thoroughly & rightfully & let their personality show out a bit more.

Ive seen too many pacquiao interviews done by western journalist where pac just completely not answer the question not because he doesnt want to answer it but he doesnt have the vocabulary to.

          Really!

Are we really having this conversation? I applaud the both of them for being able to speak as fluently as they do. I can't remember ever seeing an American athlete, who speaks english primarily, go abroad and address the media and fans in the country's principle language. That they have taken the time to master enough English to minimally communicate with us is remarkable and a mark of humility. We shouldn't be so arrogant!

Both deserve prop, definitely. And while Puerto Rico is part of the U.S., we have our own system of education (U.S. Based, mind you), but the curriculum is carried in spanish, and english being a credit course of study. Those of us fortunate enough to have been born on the mainland, have a better dominance and articulation of the dialect, but most people on the island that have never really interacted with the english language outside the classrooms, have the accent and pronunciaton and plural flaw. Miguel, only 2 years ago (or 3), spoke no english in public at all, which means he's bettered himself somewhat. Manny's english is quite understandable, and has all the right tools to communicate with little or no problem. I believe they've got a minimal amount of work to do, unless they plan to run for public office, lol. ...And yes, mayweather talks so much ****, he should be recognized as the founder of a new language all together. lol
