Why blow all the way up just to come back down?

If he decides to go ahead with this, IMO it's a mistake on his part, let me explain. Regardless, win, lose, or draw against Makubu, unless Canelo plans to stay at Cruiserweight, or Campaign at 175, this will be a mistake, simply because to add muscle mass to your body, and then try to cut that mass if he decides to go back to 168, will take it's toll and will affect him and his conditioning, I believe it will weaken him if he decided to go back down and cut that muscle after he puts it on for this challenge. You simply can not have those weight fluctuations in boxing, no matter how good you are this will affect you, IDK if Canelo and Reynoso have taken this into account, but they should and might be ruining the future, for this shot. IDK maybe I'm wrong and he can handle it, but if he does it, I personally would not fight under 175 for future fights, I think 168 after this would be a mistake.
The limit is 200 pounds meaning he can weigh whatever he wants as long as it’s not over 200… so this doesn’t necessarily mean he will go up in weight at all. If anything he can just focus on his stamina and strength and sharpening his skills, as opposed to putting on weight , they feel confident because he handles his own vs heavyweights in sparring… and that’s while unifying the 68 division… so they’ll be fine… just don’t get caught by a big shot to the chin because that can ruin him more so then the weight the fight is being fought at

I wouldn’t mind those two fighting but if I was Charlo I wouldn’t give up my belt for Benavidez. If Charlo could stay champion at the lower weight then do it if the numbers right.

Canelo and Porter are the Anti Broner and Anti Mayweather. Why I like them.

The MO of the fighter outside the ring are important to me before I support them.

Exactly. I want to see him face David Benavidez moreso than Charlo. But either fight would've been great. And you're absolutely right he could've still fought Makumba later.

This is surprising considering Porter is the absolute opposite of Canelo Alvarez. Porter will take on anyone anytime.. Alvarez is only interested in money and being a cheater.I hate it when other boxers and commentators defend this cheat balls.

Yeh I think it's best to do all he needs to do first against benevidez and whoever first. And maybe cruiserweight after. But it's all calculated risk, nel O might not be good enough at cruiser in future but he's got momentum and bit between teeth now though. So might be best to do it now?
