First, when Roy made that jump up in weight, he went from light heavy to cruiserweight/heavyweight. He went from 175 pounds to 198 pounds. But it TOOK HIM A WHOLE F'ING YEAR!!! So imagine how much gear Canelo is using. Just imagine. Anyway, you think I'm giving a pass to Roy Jones? Is that what you think? You're dead wrong. I don't give a pass to him, to Evander Hollyfield or any of these guys who were obviously juicing.
Second, I'm not playing whataboutisms. That's just a dumb logical fallacy. Next time you get pulled over and ticketed for speeding, you complain to the cop and tell him, "So what, other people have been speeding long before I was, so you should give me a pass."
Boxing is supposed to be cleanER than before. It's just getting worse. I expect the same standards that apply to the Olympics and other sports apply to boxing—especially boxing. Too many instances of guys getting f'cked up, in the NFL and everywhere else. So if you think I'm going to look at Canelo as nothing but a cheat, granted a very talented and skilled boxer, but a guy who has way more losses than his record shows and is cheating to claim he's one of the best. He's not. He's not on my best Mexican boxers ever list. No way.
So don't get your feelings hurt when I call a spade a spade. (And BTW, just think about that: If RJJ tested something like five times more than he ever should have on steroids and it took him a whole year to make that climb, starting at 175 pounds, then WTF! is Canelo taking?
