I think llungas power is overrated, who has this stiff-African really KO that was any good? Just take a look at how glass-jaw Tony Bellew shrugged-off Makapoop's left-hand and came back to knock Makapoop out-cold.
Adonis Stevenson, although a 175 pounder had more pop than Makapoop, this leap in weight is nothing special, just like beating Calleb Plant for the 168 'undisputed' title.

Oh no, not this fight. Sure, it would make Canelo a five division world champion, but c'mon, Canelo would walk through Makabu easily.
Benavidez, at super middleweight, would be a much tougher opponent than Makabu at cruiserweight.
I know it's like testing the waters at a higher weight, like a faded Kovalev rather than fighting Bivol or Beterbiev first at light heavyweight, but Makabu, not a good fight.

Dwight Muhammad Qawi was 5-foot-5 and he fought Foreman, Holyfield (twice), Leon Spinks, Michael Spinks, and held his own against a lot of talented cruiserweights and heavyweights.
Don't tell me Canelo is too small. He'll whoop this man and show you all how great he is.TreyShaw likes this.

I dont mind the hating of certain fighters , part of the sport , but this is gone beyond any reason , the guy beat Callum smith and Caleb plant , both undefeated SMW champs , once done the boogyman is now a new fighter @ 168 , it was the same for Floyd , you pick a fight , you are ducking the rest and a coward for doing so , Canelo will pick to his strengths , that's for sure , but it doesn't mean those are not good fights , ppl clamoring about Arthur or Bivol , why those 2 are not fighting each other and becoming great in their divisions ? I dont like the fact that ppl want Canelo to do stuff that other fighters are not even trying , we have such a bad sport in regards to matchmaking , Canelo is really the least of our troubles , he at least tries to go for champion vs champion matchup , would he go for the hardest one ? no , but who does ? he did so in SMW to be honest , the new boogyman in 168 didnt take out the best fighters there even.
TLDR - no matter what fight Canelo picks , the haters will say its a cherry pick , which in some way it will always be the case as Canelo much like Pac/Floyd and the other greats is now in a position to decide which fights he wants to take ,doesn't make the fight bad just because he chose it.A.B Counterhooks
