Interesting match up in that Fury is a novice, too, though you'd expect him to win.
What about that supposed story I read in the news the other week - I dunno if it was reported on here - that Paul's last opponent wasn't allowed, by contract, to KO him? I wonder if Tommy's got little contractual obligations like that?Comment

Tommy fury is so bad not Even the the hype job Hughie was matched better than Tommy they all know he is going to lose.
The only good thing about such happening would be the perverse enjoyment you could derive from watching a promoter and their outriders twisting themselves into all kinds of knots to try and justify such an abomination.
It would be worse than all the discourse I heard in the lead up to Audley Harrison vs David Haye desperately asserting that the former WAS actually a live opponent and not a scam: “all he needs to do is land ONE BIG SHOT….”
Don’t they all…

I do find it a bit su****ious that both of these guys want this fight.
Paul hasn’t looked to fight anyone who was remotely a threat, though he mis picked last time out. What has he seen in Fury that makes him think he can win? Is he deluded? Or does he actually think Fury is better but it’s a cash out?
And Fury has a whole career ahead of him… doesn’t he? Why has he picked a YouTuber? Is he really serious about boxing or is this a cash out for him?
I’m intrigued, not by the match, which I won’t watch, but this decision making. I’m calling a money spinning draw that really exploits the brakes off of their lame social media fanbases

To be fair Tommy Fury doesn't look like a future top-level fighter, so he can massively increase how much he earns for this fight and future fights with this fight

As for Paul, he was talking about retiring after his last fight so it's either that or the fight is fixed in some way. Was it John Fury - who said there were a lot of bizarre clauses in the contract but they took the fight anyway because they are 100% sure they will win? I think you could be right about that drawComment

Ah, there we go then.
Just the most bizarre matchmaking for a prospect, but then again, I suppose you would take that retirement money ASAP, even if you weren't planning on retiring.
How they spin it for Fury, in the event of him even drawing against Paul, to enable a post-fight career that doesn't include complete ridicule is the bit I don't get.Comment
