How did he look average? Stopped a fighter who had never been stopped previously in 7 rounds? It went how I predicted exactly.

The minute the fight started I knew his opponent would gas out mid rds & that he was wasting way too much Energy doing the heel toe like he just learned it.(his opponent was chosen specifically because he has no power,less reach,& way smaller.

If Canelo was his opponent tonight he would've been capitalising on everything Davis did but he wouldn't run out of steam, wouldn't get faded by DBs power,etc.

Davis made DB look like a 1 dimensional Brawler who was lucky he was way bigger & stronger

David’s attributes can give Canelo some issues. He’d push Canelo back, has a good chin, good activity, very durable, long reach, will make Canelo work and has deceptive upper body defense. His biggest issue is he’s too vulnerable in the body and has slow feet.

The thing is that Canelo punches really hard. Things change when fighters actually feel that. Doesn’t matter how big Benavidez is. He’s actually very soft on top, and his upper torso would get battered imho. I think David would go out on his shield…but his high guard style (a Benavidez family trait wannabe Big George), Canelo easily rattles it. David would be VERY CAUTIOUS in this fight because Canelo would specifically head hunt. You’d think Canelo would want to slow him down to the body, but I think David eats it all the way Smith did. These guys are just more cautious taking head shots. So in the end I think David respects Canelo’s power from the get go and many fans will be disappointed, like the LDBC, and just throw David under the bus.

I “also feel like” that real power punchers at 175 is the reason why David isn’t there. Beterbiev too strong imo. I think Zurdo too would keep him honest. In fact so would Smith. David never called out Smith for unification. Now Smith is stronger at 175 as would David.

The Benavidez family, like any other, just want the Canelo payday and call it quits tbh

Cmon dude. You sound like an amateur around here. 175 power is step up from 168. I’m not saying Benavidez isn’t a LHW. I’m saying Beterbiev fights LHW’s. Dirrell, Ellis, Porky Medina, 2 weeks notice Davis. Given their performances those guys would all be stopped top 175lbrs.

I'd rather see Charlo v Canelo while both still prime. I wouldn't mind DB getting next though, I'm just saying don't be surprised when he gets stopped or if he does by a journeyman instead (if he actually fights someone with power)
