Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua Wants To Bash Usyk Up, He's Angry - Which is Good!

We're in agreement that trainers need to tell the fighter what day it is, w/no bull****, and we're in agreement that Joshua should've beat Ruiz.
I'll tell you now, he absolutely should NOT have been expected to win against Usyk and anyone who said so in the forerunning of the event either doesn't know much about boxing, works for Matchroom's PR department or is a journalist for Skysports.
In fairness, even AJ's biggest cheerleaders in boxing (the actual ex-boxers) couldn't say with real conviction that he would win or at least thought it would be close. And we're talking about people whose job is ostensibly to big him up.Comment

I know you like having a bit of a laugh re:Joshua, which is cool. But tbf, the only version of Joshua that can’t beat the best possible version of Ruiz is the one that needs reminding that he’s 6’6” and can jab him while sat on his couch.Comment

Hindsight is, of course, 20/20. It's my perception that very small percentage of fans believed Usyk would beat AJ, despite AJ's known flaws and prior emphatic loss to Ruiz. Pretty much all fans acknowledged that Usyk was the superior boxer, but very few fans confidently predicted that would mean Usyk would win. Usyk had been a dominant CW, but he had looked very average as a HW before the AJ fight. The conventional wisdom going into that fight was that AJ was good enough of a boxer to get inside and beat Usyk with his size and punching power advantage.
It was indeed conventional wisdom and yes, Usyk did look ropey, but I wasn’t one of those fans employing either that wisdom or allowing those performances to affect my opinion. Firstly, Usyk beat Witherspoon and Chisora in 2nd/3rd gear, in my eyes, and both were still clear.
On a separate forum before their fight, (BBC sport for those who care) I said Usyk would dominate Joshua but he’d lose it on the cards. That the judges didn’t rob him was the only surprise for me.
What’s more, I’m on record on this site saying Usyk was clearing this division. That’s a a contribution from 2-3 years ago. Ofc, it aroused scepticism, and still does, but I had him pegged as better than all of this lot; I doubt I’d make so confident a prediction if we were right in the middle of the 90s…
I've rambled a bit, here, but as far as I'm concerned, anyone with boxing knowledge should have had Usyk favourite going into that fight. I'm just a twat from England with a braincell deficiency and even I had him as favourite.

The part I find hilarious is "AJ wants to bash him up",is that how brits talk trash?
Sounds like something Will Farrell in ladies man would say to his gay wrestling buddy.
"I want to bash him up til he squeals like a little piglet & breathes on my neck"
Does the cvnty nanny state have them so muzzled they have to talk like that or be thrown in jail or some sht? Because it's mind boggling how bad some poms like Hearn are at talking trash.
I also wonder if gypsies are the only ones over there who knows how to shttalk?
What you’ve got to realise is that Hearn’s a second generation ****ney born in Essex to an extremely rich accountant, AND he’s in his 40s….
I mean, there is a hell of a lot going on there.
You can’t honestly be expecting a guy with this kind of profile to have the kind of same trash talk as, for example, a guy from one of the hardest ******s in New York that beat the **** out of someone to get vengeance for his pet pigeons, can you?!
