Munguia bypassed more meaningful fights to take this one as it’s perceived to be less of a risk. This is obviously the doing is Oscar and Golden Boy as we’ve seen this before many times. Hopefully it’ll backfire and Rosado pulls it off.

Munguia had a title shot guaranteed didn't he, against Charlo, or Andrade? He or his promoter aren't that confident he can win those fights.

Seeing the bit of trouble Charlo had against Montiel, maybe Munguia has a fair chance, but he would be the underdog.

Rosado has experience getting beat, I don't see how that's an advantage. He knows how to lose.

It's hard to root against Rosado, but I think he's going to get absolutely hammered and retired by Munguia. Jaime's got all kinds of holes in that defense, so there will be opportunities for Gabe, but I don't think he's going to strike lightning twice in a row. Munguia's offensive power and sturdy chin will be too much for him. I'm imagining something like the Munguia v Sadam Ali fight. If not a straight KO, I could see an early to mid-rounds TKO stoppage on cuts.

IDK, Munguia turned pro 9 years ago, became a world champion almost four years ago, has 37 fights and is in the peak of his prime at 25 years old. What is the point in holding him back fighting 3rd tier guys like Gabe Rosado? I think he may well get a highlight reel stoppage of Rosado which is good for his brand, but he needs to step it up if he wants to make real money and make his mark in this game. He should be fighting elite 160 lb guys only. Golden Boy is being way too cautious because they clearly lack confidence that Jamie can contend with the MW elite. I would love to see Munguia against Charlo or Andrade, right now. Fortune favors the bold in this sport.
