That's the equivalent to someone saying "If Toney got dominated by Dave Tiberi, then Canelo murders Toney" "If Toney struggled and arguably lost to the likes of Merqui Sosa and Sanderline Williams, what would Canelo do?" "If Toney was beaten easily by Drake Thadzi, Canelo would destroy him"

Furthermore a past prime Iran Barkley isn't in the same strasophere as an elite, P4P fighter like Canelo so the comparison is total garbage from the off.

Toney did nothing in his career to suggest he would "murder" Canelo. Not a single thing.

The real likelihood is Canelo beats him
What is your opinion on canelo vs hopkins?

      Hopkins UD more than likely.

Competitive fight but I can't see Hopkins losing it.

Both beat Canelo on the cards. I suppose Canelo has a slight chance late against Roy if he can pressure him and check his chin but I can’t see it honestly.

Canelo's great and all, but Roy's style is all types of bad for Canelo. All of Canelo's weaknesses are Roy's strengths. And, back then, his chin wasn't compromised by the weight cut or anything, so his chin issues weren't an identified issue during his early days

Mayweather and Lara arguably had the best movement within their respective weight divisions when Canelo fought them, and they gave Canelo hell. Roy during his younger days would ultimately be too agile and mobile.

Also, Canelo enjoyed the advantage of having faster hands during his past few fights. Against Roy, Canelo would lose that advantage, and it won't even be close.

Given the hand speed, foot speed, height, and reach advantage, Roy could easily potshot his way to a dub, or do whatever he wants really. I can't name more than 1 thing that Canelo does better than Roy to be honest. Jones is better in every department, and it's not even close in some departments (hand speed, foot movement, etc)

Nothing wrong with it though, Roy in his prime beats 99.9999% of every fighter at his weight

Roy looked invincible at the peak of his powers

Alvarez for all his brilliance hasn’t ever looked unbeatable

many times he dropped rounds and then the opponent gets ko’d

              whacky Khan was winning rounds

Don't let the old, unmotivated Kovalev Fight fools you. There is no way Canelo wins against prime Jones and Hopkins.

Prime Kovalev boxed really well against Hopkins and Andre Ward (Both Master Technicians), and arguably won the first fight against Ward. The Canelo fight, it feels like he was there to take the money. lol

i don't think people here actually seen hopkins in his 30s fight at mw. He was what they called a "boring" fighter, but he brought intensity and tired a lot of guys out with his tactics, sometimes that were illegal. And once again, Canelo hasn't had many mw fights. Maybe 5 of them in his career.

I can't believe how many people think Canelo has a chance against B-HOP....he doesn't.

Hopkins had dimensions as a middleweight, strong, fast, great stamina, iq, knew all the tricks, could fight aggressive and defensive, in his prime he was as well rounded a middleweight as there's been. That is not even factoring in the physical advantages.

Canelo would win rounds, the ones that Hopkins allowed him to win - clear UD for Hopkins.
