Canelo Alvarez is draining himself alright, his whole game is based around being the big man 'And using weight cuts'.

There is nothing wrong with this, as Alvarez is just a fighter exploiting the rules of the modern game. But these type of strategies in my opinion, over time affect a fighters performance. And I honestly think it is all starting to have a affect of Alvarez.

Unlike Bernard Hopkins & Floyd Mayweather, Alvarez is not a old school fighter 'And his whole game can only really work in modern day boxing'.

Alvarez's next fight, is probably the first fight where he is not the bigger man on fight night. Both Alvarez & Kovalev where really close in fight night weight.

I don't think Alvarez is more skilled that Bernard Hopkins. Alvarez most likely would of struggled against Kelly Pavlik 'Pavlik is better than all of Alvarez's recent middle weight wins'.

I am not sure why you are trying to make out, that Alvarez is super sophisticated? In every single fight he fights exactly the same way. He marches forward, with a half decent shoulder roll, guard and defense. And seemingly has greater strength and punching power than most of his opposition 'Which is bizarre for a fighter coming up from the lower weight divisions'.

Alvarez's main intimidating attributes is not his skills, but his NOW physical strength and punching power. This is a area of his game, I have always found completely bizarre. Because you would expect these middle-weights who started their career at middle weight 'To be able to push him about'. I still think fighters from past middle-weight era's, fighters like Carl Froch would go through Alvarez like a tank at some stage in the fight 'All of these middle-weights from this era are under par'.

If this fight between Makabu & Alvarez is genuine, and Makabu is coming to win 100%. Lets see if Alvarez is able to do what Roy Jones Junior did against John Ruiz.

I am still dubious of his next fight, and many people are. I just want to see a real fight.

Do you think this is going to be a real fight? Again, it is terrible that I am even have these doubts 'But I really don't like the way Makabu was all matey matey with Alvarez during their first meeting'.

Being the 'Big man' is Alvarez's whole game.

Nothing wrong with that, that is just the game he is playing.

This should be a straight forwards simple quick reply from you, but it is not going to be.

You know that one of Alvarez's main tactics is using weight cuts, and being the big man on fight night.

All of his opponents, all make remarks of how big and transformed Alvarez seems on fight night 'None of this is speculation or made up'.

This fight against Makaku, hopefully a fully game Makabu 'Is Alvarez's first fight where his tactics of being the big man, are not really going to be effective'.

Why do you always complain over the Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez fight? You complain because you seem to think in your mind, that Mayweather denied Alvarez the opportunity to be 'The best big man he could be in that fight'. Even though that on fight night, Alvarez must of easily been over 10 pounds to 1 stone heavier than Floyd Mayweather Junior 'Maybe even more'.

Note: I just see that Alvarez implemented a weight limit for Danny Jacobs, of 170 pounds. How many weight limits has Alvarez put over his opponents and why? He does these things ThugNelo, because they help his tactics of being the big man. I still don't think skill for skill, Alvarez is light years ahead of some opponents. He is beating these fighters, mainly with his physical strength and power.

Alvarez has never been in a fight where he was being out weighed by over 1 stone, he has never been in that situation. He has always been very close to the weight of the fighters he has been fighting.

first off you’re blind, not much I can help you with…

but if you could see or know what goes on in boxing, fighters look a certain way on the scale and then on fight night. As Canelo has been moving up, his weigh in physique is filled and closer on fight night. Look at Canelo‘s weigh in at 175. He looks about 3lbs less than on fight night whereas Kovalev is drained. Krusher hydrates 15lbs.

What he has going for him is his short height, so that when he moves up in weight, he fills out his frame much better, and he is blessed with a strong neck as well. His build plays very well into his style of coming forward, absorbing shots and counterpunching.The question is... how much has the 'Clenelo tained meat debacle' helped him with that. Boxing wise I don't rate him that high and I got him losing twice against G.

So at MW he had basically 2 losing fights.

His best win at SMW is Callum Smith. Don't forget that Nieky Holzken gave Calumn Smith fits a few times in the fight, and he could not put Nieky away AT ALL. Nieky is a kickboxer that has NO business boxing on a world stage.

Yes, I am not sure why ThugNelo is trying to disagree with me.

A big part of Canelo Alvarez's game is exploiting the rules in modern day boxing 'And implementing big weight cuts'.

It is a major part of his game, being the big man on fight night.

I personally don't like it when fighters use these tactics, because I honestly think the longer they do it? The more it will eventually effect their performance.

It does seem to be the modern day culture these days. I was watching a UFC video clip of some fighters there doing weight cuts, and it is completely ridiculously.

Overall, Alavrez has ether always been close to the weight of his opponent or way bigger on fight night 'He has never really been in the position of Floyd Mayweather, or even Manny Pacquiao'.

One of the major reasons fighters these days, you get a lot of multiple weight world champions. Is because of the day before weigh in's. Most fighters are ether big fighters trying to fight in lower weight classes, very few are approaching these fighters like old school fighters.
