I was indeed quoting the late great Green. Doesn't change the fact that Canelo is overrated.

Well I'm sure some people will be overrating him after tonight's performance. That's how it always goes after a big win.

Just stating facts, sir. Plant fought well, but he simply wasn’t good enough. There are levels to this. Canelo is the best right now, but the fight still showed he can be beaten by a boxing’s wizard/master who can control him from both the outside and inside where he mainly excelled.

If he landed a lucky shot, I could see that. But he broke the guy down. He knew what he was doing, and it wasn't really that hard for him to do it. Plant couldn't back him up from round 1.

This ain't the same Canelo as the one Floyd fought. It's pretty obvious. Floyd fans don't need to try and make that argument, and they don't need to be offended when people scoff at that argument.

I don't ever subscribe to p4p logic... BUT I think Plant was a live dog and it took a lot for Canelo to get it done in the eleventh in superb fashion.

My thinking is the opposite of Ghost of Dempsey... in that to me Plant showed he was much better than people were ready to credit him with being... And Canelo managed to beat him as he did and for that I give kudos to Canelo. Hes now beat a bunch of quality fighters...

My take on this fight: It was superb. Plant even showed he could back Canelo up with his power... Plant made one mistake that cost him dearly which was, he should have risked more and made Canelo have to counter him to KO him... He was actually able to show he could affect Canelo, but by going back on the defensive, it gave Canelo the initiative, with little risk, to attack all out. Smart move by Canelo!

We can nitpick all night about how much he has improved, but the fact of the matter is that he hasn’t fought anyone equally complete as Floyd since he last fought Floyd. It may not be the same Canelo that fought Floyd, but he hasn’t fought a complete boxer like Floyd either. We’ll never know because there’s no one currently in any weight class who can emulate Floyd’s defense, offense deception/accuracy, ring IQ, etc.

How was Kovalev washed up. He was a dominant fighter only losing to Ward. He was powerful and knockout many fighters. He knocked down Ward. You call him washed up because he lost to Canelo.

For Canelo to fight title holders, that were undefeated, having beaten other fighters. Get over it. So everyone that lost to Canelo is washed up?

That's unfair don't you think? There is no Floyd and there will not be another Floyd.

GGG has an all-time jab, workrate, toughness, chin, stamina etc. He was a very fine challenger. And he beat Canelo too, but yeah this isn't about Floyd (or GGG) man. You guys trying to make it about him is kind of pathetic.

Fck GGG.....Thinking he can waltz into a huge payday just because some people didn't like the outcomes of the 1st fight.
GGG hasn't done shlt to EARN that 3rd fight. He has NOTHING to lose or offer.

I hope Nelo doesn't give into the BS and concentrate on MEANINGFUL fights.

31 y/o Nelo getting shlt done
