Wouldve been even better had you at least tried to become undisputed at 160 where the comp was better

I was going to say the same thing. It's not really a golden age at 168.

TL;DR: Canelo thinks it’s the most important win of his career because the winner will be the first undisputed champion in SMW history. A feat that has not been achieved even by ATG’s like RJJ, Calzaghe, Hopkins and Ward.

Canelo winning would also make him the first undisputed mexican in boxing history. A feat that was not achieved by atg’s like Chavez,MAB,Morrales, etc.

All of which would have squatted and dumped on this generation of diva boxers. This is an accomplishment imo the same way beating a decrepit Mosley was. It’s not what you win it’s who you win it against.

Both divisions are pretty dead honestly, even 175 is weak

I think when Saul was at 160 the division was on fire. 175 is better than 168 but not by much

At least in my opinion they are both just about the same. Besides Charlo, 3G and just for the fk of it I'll throw in Chu wan paydayyy Andrade their was really no one else. The equivalent of those fighters are basically Plant, BJS and the best of the division who's still somewhat unproven Benavidez. 175 all it has is Bivol who still hasn't fought anyone of note yet which is not a diss just the way the landscape is right now and Betervieb who's about to turn fitty years old. I just hope that next year we see the likes of Charlo, Mr payday, GGG to get a final payday go up to 168 and Benavidez gets his sht together so the division gets somewhat interesting. But that's just wishful thinking on my part, we both know boxing always finds a way to shoot itself on the foot
