There is a difference of opinion on all fighters doesn't mean anything, he was obviously a great fighter, how great is beyond us mere mortals we just argue about these things, its a higher power that truly knows.

Over here in the UK? Yes. Rest of the World? Probably not.

He probably had the greatest run at 168, but that’s largely because the more talented fighters like Roy, Toney, Ward moved up from 168 and used it as more of a stop gap. Head to head there’s no way he beats any of those guys at 168.

        In a word; No.

        He's far from great.

His resume is laughable and he beat 3 fighters ranked in the Top 5 in his entire career.

          He could definitely beat Toney.

Not to say he would, but he definitely could.

He has no chance with Jones or Ward though.

His resume is actually better than people think in fairness, he fought some trash but there’s also some good names people miss. People often disregard his resume prior to Lacy but he actually beat a lot of former/future world champions during that period. Eubank, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall, Reid were all solid wins, add that to Lacy, Kessler, Bika, B-Hop and a badly faded RJJ and that’s 10 world champions he defeated.

I could see him out working Toney tbf, I just think Toney times him though.

I mean he'll time him every now and again sure, does he have the power to stop him? No.

To be honest Calzaghe could outbox him, outwork him.

I'd lean heavily on Calzaghe in that fantasy fight.

Yes, without a doubt. He was a very gifted and amazing talent. He is considered a great fighter in and outside of the UK by boxing experts. I would take the opinion of Roy Jones Junior and Eubank over some random Internet guy who has probably never laced a pair of boxing gloves in his life.

Here's a lovely get-together RJJ, Eubank and Calazaghe had - note the respect between these ATGs:

I think so yeah, Calzaghe walked onto shots, I’m not convinced Calzaghe has the inside game to hang with him either.

Probably depends how motivated Toney is tbh, if he’s in shape (which is a massive if) I think he stops Joe but if the lazy Toney who fought Griffin turns up I’ll take by Joe by UD.
