Dillian Whyte is an average fighter at best

look at his last few fights

he was virtually out on his feet against Joseph Parker....he got dazed by an Old Wach. He arguably lost to Chisora in the first fight. He got sparked by an ancient Povetkin.... Rivas hurt him a few times too....

he hasn't really been good since the Lucas Browne fight

Whyte has killer body shots and a very nasty left hook if he lands it perfect . Average fighters don’t possess these things ,one could say he throws himself off balance if he misses power rights but overall he’s pretty solid though he should be around 240/245 to execute better . He’s a very big guy who also has a high volume of shots which has got him in trouble in later rounds ,he’s got a lot to work with for improvement,I still believe Wallin wins the cancelled fight but Whyte can show up and knockout anyone at any given time.

when you're an average HW in a weak HW era, you're a top contender!

Youre right but the entire division is pretty average.

He fits in perfectly in a weak era.

He’s an average fighter that is past his best days as well. Fortunately, if you’re a heavyweight in a crap era you will always get another shot. Even after pensioners knock you out cold. Hell, Briggs could probably get a title shot with one or two mediocre wins. It’s part of why I never understand fans who have no interest in the lower weight classes. Heavyweight has been **** for a long, long time.
