GGG and Lomachenko are first ballot hall of famers, so, it would appear they are legacy fighters. This means they are some of the greatest boxers of all time. I hope you can handle that. If not you should write a handwritten letter to the committee stating your point.

I dont want to hear any "it's this guy's fault not his." Yes, it's always someone's fault, and none of them ever fight each other. I remember hearing for years how it was never GGG's fault, always everyone else's because he was so feared they were ducking him, and he didn't generate enough money.
Now GGG is the #2 cash cow in the division, and he's old so everyone wants to fight him now, but he still fights nobody. That just proves all those excuses are bs. For marketing purposes, there always has to be the "good guy" who wants the fight, and the "villain" to root against who doesn't, but in reality, neither of them want the fights, they are just stringing careers along to make the most money while making as few big names lose as possible. If Loma fights Haney, Tank, etc etc, either Loma has to lose, which hurts his ticket selling, or they have to lose, which hurts their ticket selling. So it's all bs. Dont fall for it. Both sides are the same, just like the good guy and the "heel" in WWE both work for WWE, they just act differently as part of the soap opera.Comment

The Hall of Fame is meaningless. There might be more people in the Hall of Fame than the population of Texas. Why do you guys fall for these bs marketing organizations? And I never watched boxing because I cared about who was the most famous. That is meaningless to me. I think people value the wrong things in life sometimes.Comment

Loma's only good opponent at 135 has been Lopez, and he lost! Just like GGG and Garcia, they lose to the first time they fight a good opponent, so their careers are boring. Loma missed Mikey, Donaire, Crawford at 135, now Stevenson, Haney, Tank Davis, and I'm probably forgetting others as well.

A fighter who relies on blocking every shot seems to be a fairly easy matchup for golovkin who still punches hard and places his punches well.
It's not like he has to deal with a much younger, much lighter on his feet opponent who can make him feel his age.
Regardless, his age has shown lately. Was tiring vs derevyanchenko and slowed down enough for his opponents to land shots inbetween more often.Comment

GGG fought the best guys in one weight class only. Loma and Garcia have not even done that. Loma's only good opponent at 135 has been Lopez, and he lost! Your whole last point is kind of proved false with Loma fighting Teo is it not? they both called for the fight and the fight happened. So the best guys do fight each other sometimes, same as Canelo vs GGG at 160. Mikey had the balls to fight Spence at least when he went to a weight class he didn't belong in
Seems to me the only one who hasn't fought anyone is TankComment

Loma called out Tank Davis numerous times so don't waste your words mentioning that guy to me. He hasn't fought a guy at 130 or 135 in the top 5 .

But I give Loma credit for taking that fight. My point is, that was his first relevant fight in two and a half years, since Linares (who was never that good anyway. So really it's his first relevant fight since Walters. Except oops, Walters was never that good either. One dimensional puncher. Which means it was Loma's first relevant fight since GRJ. Who was never that good either. Fast hands, but super short reach, no power, bad defense, etc.
So really, a 22 year old Teofimo Lopez is Loma's only relevant opponent in 17 pro fights. And just like GGG in his first relevant matchup, Loma lost!
If that's what passes for a "legacy fighter" in 2021, then Boxing is truly dead. Yeah it will go on generating money and views but that's not what I mean. It's done. Put a pin in it. D-O-N-E done. But if you want to hype up Linares because that's what boxing fans are forced to do these days without many great matchups: lie to themselves about the decent ones, then fine, Loma went "only" two years and five months between opponents that could improve his legacy. That's way, way too long to be a legacy fighter. And now he's spending his entire 2021 fighting trash opponents. Richard Commey lost to Robert Easter Jr. of all people. Forget the fact he got knocked out easily by Teofimo, he actually lost to Robert Easter Jr. You can't find a more trash opponent than Commey except for maybe Jason Sosa and Miguel Marriaga, two other guys Legacy Loma fought back to back.
The guy is a fraud. Yeah he called out Tank Davis. So what? It's all for show. They are both waiting for the strategic time to make money. Then because Tank is much younger than Loma, and can go on making PPV fights for much longer than Loma can, maybe Loma will throw the fight vs him and get 5% kickbacks from Tank's future PPVs for the next decade in exchange. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Loma says the right things but actions speak louder than words. I actually think the way these things work is a lot more complicated than that example, but it's a simple way to give you the general idea of how it's all bs.
Also, the guy is constantly posing in designer underwear, that almost look like male thongs, at the weigh-ins. He was wearing some designer "Billionaire" jacket like Floyd Mayweather. He keeps talking about legacy, not money, but then dresses like a male model on the runway who sold out for big contracts with fashion designers. And there is a subtle arrogance to the way he talks to people and interacts with people both outside the ring and also in the ring.
Overall, he's much easier to root for than Tank but it's all WWE at the end of the day. You need a good guy and a villain to make a compelling storyline. It's the same marketing as Pacquiao vs Mayweather. But at the end of the day, it's all the same BS. Pacquiao even sold out millions of fans who bet on him, just like Lomachenko did, by supposedly fighting Floyd with a bad shoulder and then losing. But again it's all BS, I don't even believe that, it just makes for a good cover story for the fact it's all fake to begin with and in my opinion they take the fans for their money whenever they can and injuries don't have anything to do with it. But again that's just my opinion, nothing else.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 11-09-2021, 02:04 AM.Comment

Does home ground even matter in Japan? They are so fair/unbiased it's almost crazy/backwards in the world of boxing.Comment
