      Without a doubt.

Was 23 years old when he passed away and already had 3 HOF'ers on his resume and consider a lineal champion in his weight division. The only other two that come close to ever replicating something similar to that was JCC and Erik Morales.

I think Canelo is pretty clearly the most 'talented' Mexican boxer ever, even at this time. He is very skilled. He combines most of the traditional Mexican toughness and bravado with the skill of a Cuban or something.

I wouldn't necessarily say he is the best Mexican boxer ever though. Not right now, you have to let him finish his career.

Maybe so but let's not act like he didn't have Black in his DNA. One looks at his hair and facial features will tell you that.

If I had to guess I'd say he's 30% African.

Yes sir. He had an unbelievable rhythm in the ring, put his punches together so effortlessly. One of my favourite guys to watch.

Amazing resume for a guy only 23 years old too, Wilfredo Gomez, Azumah Nelson, Little Red Lopez twice, Juan Laporte etc. He beat nearly all of those guys by stoppage too.

If any younger posters one here haven’t gone back and watched Sal, I’d implore them to do so, unbelievable fighter.

As great as both were, I don’t think either were as talented as Sanchez personally. Obviously subjective as you’re having to use the old “eye test” but for me Sanchez was a far more skilled fighter than Chavez.

If you believe that to be the case, I’d have to question how much you’ve actually seen of past Mexican greats.

Canelo is a modern great and probably the best of this current era but let’s not forget the flaws in his game that have been exposed in the past by Mayweather, Lara etc. There’s no way in hell Canelo is a more talented fighter than Sanchez analysing them from a skill perspective.

Yeah well realistically Mexican Boxing, news, ESPN Deportes, cites Canelo and JCC specifically. As if they wouldn’t know who Salvador was… “analyzing” doe
