Ward is younger than GGG. Can it happen? Isn't that the type of fight that would make sense, narratively, for Ward to come back for?
I got roped in by this soap opera so it would be cool to see it for GGG's "legacy" in this soap opera. Even if he "wins" the third Canelo "fight," it's still just Canelo. Came up from 155. Laid an egg vs Floyd when Canelo was at a speed-peak age and Floyd was past his prime. The ATGs might lose when they're young to a top guy, but maybe by 1 round, and not to someone way smaller than them. Canelo had nothing. He arguably lost to Lara too, and even Trout which is a lot less easy to write off. Was arguably losing on the cards 10 rounds into a fight vs an opponent who did not throw a real punch throughout all 10 rounds, even by the standards of this "sport." Might have gotten in trouble late vs Angulo if the ref didn't stop it. Was hurt by Liam Smith.
If GGG "beats" that guy, how impressive is it, really? But beating Ward, that could really "save" GGG's "legacy." I know tons of boxing fans have wanted to see that fight going back almost 10 years now. Both have equal arguments for still being undefeated. Both are similar in age. It just fits.
