'Since you seem to be so magnanimous in your condemnation of our founders do you still champion your human rights to present day slavery? Do you still volunteer your time to squash slavery in present day China? Pakistan? India? Congo?'
Now that is an interesting idea. Nobody should criticise anyone from the past unless they are willing to volunteer to put that wrong right in the present day! I really think you've got something there.
I honestly don't think I can do anything to resurrect anyone Hitler killed. It follows, by your logic, that I shouldn't condemn him.
I suppose I could, with enough logistical support, gather all the Irish travellers in the UK & return them to Connaught, thus putting right a terrible thing Cromwell did. However, I'm not convinced that they'll go even if I put all the transport in place & a lot of them can box so if they don't WANT to go its going to get difficult & potentially violent.
I can't, obviously, restore the writings, engravings & manuscripts destroyed by Attila the Hun but I would be very happy to trace them & then go to one of those 3-D printing guys. Alternatively, & perhaps preferably, I could just not throw shade on Attila. I mean, man did his best.
