His record consists of nobodies and he was even wiped out by old boy Povetkin just two fights ago. Hearn and Whyte have very little credibility and if they don't show evidence of this injury they will have very little support moving forward. Hearn knows that if they are lucky enough for Tyson to give them a pay day then Whyte can't start refusing £5m or the like to fight as he did against Joshua as Fury won't stand any nonsense from the bloke his rightly calls 'a wanker'. Hearn will also find that being out of the Heavyweight scene , as he's looking likely to be he's got little chance of enforcing a rematch clause.
It will be a mandatory. He'll get a set percentage, with the option to give Fury a rematch clause for more money. Why do you think Hearn would be enforcing a rematch clause? Fury is the champion.

It doesn't matter what you think of Whyte. He's the Interim Champion and will therefore be the mandatory if and when it's called.

Or Fury will duck. Which you'll no doubt excuse.

Let's have an independent physician verify that injury. Otherwise this leaves a bad taste.

Let us have a real mandatory challenger, please.
        Petition the WBC then.

Under their rules he'll be the mandatory when it's called. He's their interim champion. He lost that title but won it straight back. That's what happened. You can think what you want but that's exactly what happened.

Amazing how much debate there is as to whether he should be mandatory or whether he deserves it. Your opinion doesn't matter - it's like arguing whether Fury should be the WBC champion. He just is.

I'm sure they can find an injury. He's a boxer. Whether he could fight is a matter of opinion.

It leaves a bad taste, but to go through with this fight after the WBC's comments would be ******. He's taken fights he didn't need to in the past. Once bitten, twice shy.

He shouldn't have made Wallin waste money on training camp.

If the injury is legit then fine, things happen. But let's get that verified by an independent physician as a show of good faith.

This is spot on , all of these eliminators have been people he chose to fight then hearn applied to the WBC to make them eliminators.

I jope he gets the fury fight takes a beating then walks away .

The article is a little misleading, Hearn said Whyte wants to stay active and not go into the Fury fight with a long layoff. Hearn said hopefully we get Fury vs Whyte next year but that doesn’t mean Whyte won’t fight before that ,that’s what the quotes insinuate.

I would be surprised however if he got a tough fight before Fury . I’m not sold on the injury.
