Canelo also has questionable decision wins against Lara, lil g 1, and Austin ****in trout. Manny is light years ahead of canalo
Lil G 2 was a much closer fight than Austin fucking Trout.

The problem is that they cannot seem to attract enough casual viewers stateside on the underground web on its app. Most Americans don't even watch boxing anymore. It's no longer a mainstream sport here like American Football and College Football and the NBA..
I’ve said the exact same thing many times on this forum and each time I say it some nationalist incel(s) lose their shyt. Dayzin DOES NOT reach the American sports fan. You don’t even get to see the best boxing on that app let alone the every day sports Americans want to see

Truth is they're throwing Canelo the brinks truck to fight a guy he's a +1000 favorite (right now) over. They're also going up against a major UFC PPV the same night. I'd argue this fight will likely do less business than Wilder v Fury 3 (600K PPV buys). The only two fights I feel the PBC can provide that have some intrigue are David Benavidez & Jermall Charlo. But even with those two right now, Benavidez brings nothing to the table outside of being undefeated and losing the belt on the scales and Jermall is coming off a pretty lackluster performance. Does either fight generate 500-600K on PPV even by Spring / Fall 2022? Just things I'm assuming the PBC / Al Haymon would consider if this PPV is flop city.
I cant disagree with this at all. I think fighters have to come to grip with the fact that the Mayweather PPV era is over. There will be no more 4.5 or 2.5 million buys anymore. Those PPV buys were purely out of hatred for Floyd and he took that hate all the way to the bank. Fighters are going to have to realize that everyone is not going to be able to demand 25 or 30 million dollars a fight anymore. 5-700k PPVs may be the new reality for big fights. You're not going to stop piracy ever so the big 1.9 million buys days are gone. I always want the fighter to be compensated accordingly but the networks have to make money in order for the sport to grow.

Then he can go do Bivol and take the last of DAZN's budget. Then go to ESPN for Beterbiev. I could be wrong but 2022 and beyond looks promising for boxing because I think PBC and TR finally realize that they have to work together for boxing to thrive. There are about 100 good fights between 122 -140 if they worked together and probably 50 more if GBP goes to Showtime.
He isn't holding up any budget, they pay what he is worth, and if there is other fighters out there with that worth, they'll get the same. Don't be blaming Canelo for fights not being made, it's great having him in boxing today, and it was great having Pac, Mayweather also. We need boxers like them.

But a real boss is the person with the most power, and these temporary bosses need Canelo more than he needs them because they need to attract him, not the other way around.

I can see Canelo not working woth anyone back to back to show he's the boss. He last fought on DAZN, next he's fighting against Plant with PBC/Haymon, next he could fight Bivol on DAZN, then Beterbiev on ESPN/Top Rank, back to PBC for Benavidez. He can have all the networks working on his schedule.

Other than Benavidez, and maybe Marcus Browne (if he pulls off the improbable vs Beterbiev), who on PBC is Saul gonna fight? And DAZN? Bivol? We know Andrade aint gettin the fight cause hes a "motherfu.cker", the word Saul complained was an insult from Plant...
