But thanks using the UFC comparsion to make my point. The UFC is an American company thats ran by an American Dana White and they are having great global success. Fighters from all over the world come to the US to sign up with the American company. The same needs to happen with American boxing and only Al, Bob or Oscar can do it. Although boxing was born in England it has been perfected in America and this is where it's done on the highest level. And when you say "Al looks at the map to cut out states", well sonnyboy if you (and Hearn) knew anything about American sports then you would know he has to do that. There are some states that are still operating like its 1850 and the 3 aforementioned gentlemen that I said will be the ones to run boxing, a *** a black and a Mexican, is the antithesis of what these confederate states live by, successful **********.
You are completely wrong about the people that would be best to run boxing out of the US. I don’t give a S about the UK/US bit, but I do know that with Al Haymon in charge and unchallenged, boxing hit a low point in terms of promotion. Keep in mind his entire existence as an ‘advisor’ was to get around the ‘Ali rule’ which basically prevents the same set up as UFC existing in Boxing as they basically became ****** to their owners. Boxing greats like Joe Lewis ended up destitute through poor management and tax debts and had to fight well passed it being best for their health, because the centralised companies that ‘owned’ them didn’t care.

With Al H in charge we had some of the worst step aside deals going on in boxing. The reason we didn’t get Mayweather vs Pac earlier…Haymon, the reason best weren’t fighting the best for 10-15 yrs…Haymon, he isn’t a passionate fan he’s an asset manager and he ruined the sport. You think Oscar is better, for starters Oscar doesn’t do F All at Golden Boy, Richard Schaefer ran GB and it steadily went down hill after he left, why? Because Schaefer was the link with Al Haymon, and as soon as he wasn’t there, Al waved his magic wand and made it so GB was a second rate promoter again, because he controlled boxing.

You love Uncle Bob and Al so much, have a think about it for a second, forget the US part, these guys only care about one thing and that’s keeping the old fashioned PPV gravy train running as long as possible. So, long as they can hold back technology and have fighters in complex deals with TV networks that prevent them boxing certain other fighter their winning and the fans are losing. That’s when DAZN swooped in, if not them it will be someone else. Forget they’re German for a second and think about what they want to do. They want the best to fight the best. Just like the UFC, but instead of the fighters getting underpaid like the UFC they are still paying the former PPV money and guarantees, it’s a win/win. We get the fights we want and the boxers can afford to retire when they want.

What probably needs to happen is a that within this framework is DAZN or whoever the main distributor is, need to find a way to affiliate with different apps, share the content and that way broaden the way the content is served, that is the next step of the evolution but it hasn’t happened…yet. What we def do no want is going back to the shadowy puppet mastering of Al Haymon, the guy doesn’t care about fans, let’s move on.

They probably don't even have 250k people over here that purchased the $99 yearly sub, and I'm being generous. As far as "catering for a global market", you're exactly right. We don't care about the global market because we are the globe!
W-t-f No...eddie has never talked about this. You are obv emotionally driven for a ****** yank.

Firstly, it takes years to develop to those numbers. Small up and down movements dont matter. You remind me of the ****** haters 2 yrs ago.
      covid, canelo....numbers regressed where? usa?
      mexico?

Ive seen football(soccer) absolutely blow up globally in my time growing up. In the early 90s the english premier league was new, english clubs were poor and nothing close to italian and spanish. Through the right marketing and knowledge of markets, the epl gained gradual exposure in asia. People thought "we want to crack america, who cares about poor asia?"...
And yet that asian money has taken over. Global sponsors. Ljttle english clubs with indonesian sponsors.
took 20 yrs to get to the level where now oligarchs and oil sheikhs have taken over the game.

boxing is miles better than football and i say that as a fan of both. Its just that for the past 30 yrs its been about ppv in the US doing 2.5m ppv. Now america cant even do 500pk ppv buys for one of the greatest HW fights in a long time. Thats after fox/espn spent 20million marketing their second fight that got 300m views.

America is a stage for boxing, the theatre, to showcase boxing to the rest of the of the world.
So go back to fingering your american fanny with national pride intact.
however the focus of a company like dazn will be to grow in untapped markets.
respect them for trying, if they succeed it will mean boxing will win.

You are haply with the ppv market thats been drying and milked for all it was worth by mayweather

Sorry to inform you but America is egotistical and doesnt care about anything outside of these shores. Americans dont pack into shipping containers, cross dangerous seas in old boats or hike thousands of miles of treacherous terrain to get to other nations. You do that to get here. It's called American exceptionalism and although I dont necessarily agree with that belief, for obvious reasons, it is what it is. Jeez Louise you could've narrowed all that jibberish down to one statement ... "I hate that the black guy is preventing the white guy from taking over". You can tell your overseas because you dont know anything your saying. You are basically advocating for fighters to go back to the way it was pre Al Haymon. There is a reason why he has 90% of the fighters signed in America because he provides them with the best financial option. You say Al keeps them in complex TV deals but he doesnt you fuqin idiot they can go where they want. But talk about a complex TV deal....where is Demetrius Andrade again. Boy is that career going really well. So sorry lil buddy but your whole DAZN TAKIN OVA thing didnt work!!

People wanting to immigrate to America aligns with my comment that America is important (i.e. it is an economic powerhouse). It doesn't make America the globe. You seem to be confusing being the best (or one of the best, more accurately) with being everything. There are other countries that rank higher than the US in terms of wealth per capita; other countries that have higher rates of home ownership; and greater percentages of people in higher education -- but that is irrelevant. They are not the globe either. By defintion, the whole planet is the globe and to think otherwise is fundamentally misguided. I understand part of what you are saying is that you are communicating a prevalent mindset. And on that, we agree. It is egotistical. And it's not a good look.

Forget about DAZN, this is about old dinosaurs like Uncle Bob not moving with the times, if not DAZN then a big US platform can do it for all I care, none of them pay me, I don’t care about another mans money, wtf I care about their money, I’m a fan, I want fights between the best boxers.

You’re right Al does have 90% US boxers in his ‘control’, it’s why we don’t see Crawford vs Spence, it’s why instead we get Porter vs Crawford, it’s BS and the fan doesn’t factor, it’s a game of chess to maximise Al’s ‘assets’ and don’t give me that bull about him looking after his bros, he’s pulling the same old story as Don King, that’s his angle to get their trust, when really it’s about looking after his portfolio, he don’t care if boxers age and come off the boil on his watch if, it means other boxers he can make more profit from are doing the business. The guy is a very smart businessman, one with no product if he doesn’t have boxers doing what he tells them, if you reckon that gives him the right motive to do the best by fans then you’re a sucker.

                • I really don't consider this much of a huge upset. Mikey has lost both the will to compete and win several years ago. Now he is just another shot fighter to me who should retire!
