People say Sanchez became a legeng by beating Gomez. Can the same be said of Morales if he beats Pacquiao???

    Any opinions?
No way is this fight bigger than Sanchez vs Gomez (And im a Morales and Pacquiao fan). That other site just shot itself in the foot imo as far as cred is concerned if they did really say that.

I can't believe someone posted this.

SweetScience said it best with the fewest words. NO! As good as Morales is, and he IS damn good, he is no Sanchez. OMG who are you kidding? It isn't even a question. Anybody who says that obviously hasn't seen Sanchez. No, I haven't seen a ton of Sanchez, just his big fights, but OMG you can just tell that he's a BIG step above Morales.

Salvador was certainly a legend. Morales is not on his level but he's definitely good enough to be mentioned in the same sentence. I don't think Erik could do anything to make a case that he's on JCC & Sal's league outside of winning a belt or 2 at 135...and beating Pacquiao. Morales could certainly make his own legend.

IMO, sanchez went a notch higher from erik when morales lost to MAB in the third fight... sanchez was able to conquer his major opponents... he may be great, but definitely not yet in-line with the greats...

I think this question will have to be answered at the end of Morales's carrier.

yep, absoutely not, as good as Morales is hes lost out on two of his defining fights and hasnt come close to dominating his division. i would say Erik could get out-boxed by JMM and out-brawled by MAB and maybe Pacquiao too.
