    tricky question.

if mr.counterfeit cash wins it will be great for the sport because of the potential super mega fight (the biggest in boxing since tito vs oscar) only if pacquiao wins vs cotto.

What if pacquiao & mr.counterfeit cash win but the fight is not made because of $$$ issues, one of them retires, what if both ppv shows are successful & both decide to retire.

What if marquez & cotto wins? Worst case scenario for boxing.

If mr.counterfeit cash wins but pac loses = mr.counterfeit cash vs cotto + pac vs jmm 3.

If marquez wins & pac wins= we get a trilogy but what happens to cotto & mr.counterfeit cash?

In my honest opinion, wins by either Mayweather or JMM will not do much for boxing...As mentioned in earlier posts, JMM is getting up there in age...If he wins, the obvious next move would be him calling out PAC (whether Pac wins or not...) Because let's be honest, a fight with Cotto would just be too much to ask a guy at that stage of his career...If Mayweather wins, he will price himself out of a match with PAC (if Pac wins) and get chased by Sugar Shane (who is just completely embarrassing himself and ruining his legacy with his desperateness to land that one last payday...although I don't blame him after Jin completely ruined him financially...)

After these two fights, and when these fighters retire, there is really no one left in boxing that can bring together the fans...Mayweather brings every1 together for sheer hope that he will lose (the ultimate 'bad guy' right now in the sport) or fans of the sweet science of a defensive minded guru....Marquez brings Mexico because he is the last Mexican hope for now until JCC Jr. fights somone of substance or worth or just by name recognition (but papa JCC won't put him in to any war, don't blame him, that's a father protecting his most prized commodity)...Pac brings the Philippines & has an actual following in Mexico after his wins over their legends and the United States (thanks to Nike propaganda & a growing Filipino community on the West Coast) and Cotto brings all of Puerto Rico behind him...there are no other draws in the sport left when these guys exit...

Sad to say that when these four exit, no one can step in...so really, a win by mayweather or marquez only extends the inevitable that boxing may start to lose the luster that it has right now...I think this will be Mayweather's last fight...Pac has 2 megafights & 1 farewell fight...Marquez retires if he loses to Mayweather or has 1 more megafight (with Pac) if he wins...Cotto retires if he loses and sustains a beating or if he wins has 1 more megafight with Mosley or a farewell fight in PR...

All I know is I'm looking forward to Mayweather and JMM...really would love to see a fighter force Mayweather to go to war, and I think JMM could possibly do that...For God sake, JMM drinks piss... ANYTHING is possible! WAR JMM (cuz I'm selfish and I want to see a third fight with him and Pac at Jr. WW to settle the score!) Out of curiousity, has there been any trilogy between two fighters that crossed over three weight classes because imagine a trilogy between Pac and Marquez would cross featherweight, Super featherweight, and Jr. WW?

Easily Floyd. Marquez is on the end of his career, it wouldn't help boxing at all for him to beat Floyd. If a guy like Berto or Paul Williams beat Floyd, then you'd have something. If Pac were to beat Floyd it would set up a possibly CLASSIC trilogy. That would be good for boxing. Nah, Marquez needs to lose this fight. Floyd must go on.

          2. Marquez wins he probably tries to fight Pac a third time...outside of that where does he go? Stay at 147? Go back to 135? 140?
          3. Mayweather is much more well known than Marquez and was considered P4P#1 before he left...and is considered an ATG

Marquez is gettin up there in age...I don't know how much longer Floyd will stick around but he's better for longevity and popularity of the sport
Exactly my thoughts. Mayweather has more time left in the sport, have more possibilitys for great matchups. He can if he chooses to take on all the best at 147, maybe even fight some more fights at 154. This of course presumes that he wants to make thoose fights.

Mayweather needs to win as it will do more to elevate boxing than JMM can plus JMM will soon be very old and can't really do much for boxing's popularity like Floyd can. What we need is Floyd to beat JMM in an exciting manner that makes us think woah Floyd isn't messin about anymore!
