I don't think Spence stops him if that's what you are asking......But Horn being bigger and stronger than Porter has nothing to do with taking someone into deep waters. Porter's style required a bit of adjustments for EJ....Porter wasn't bullying EJ....he pretty much just sat on his porch and kept knocking at the door and EJ struggled to look great adjusting.
Porter is trying to make it seem like what he is going to bring to Crawford is something knew that Crawford will have an issue adjusting to. His approach has already been present to Crawford by Diaz (who came in the ring at 162 lbs vs Crawford) and Horn who is as I point out naturally a much bigger and stronger individual.......PERIOD. Trying to press Crawford is like giving Crawford the W....he is one of the best counter punchers in the sport.....one the more accurate power punchers, and THE most efficient defender in the division.......a quick stat search through Compubox will show you fight by fight just how true that is.......Porter will have to have more than his lunging hook and blind over hand right to get to Crawford because he will shut that **** down immediately..........Comment

Bottom line: Spence would have treated Horn like he treated Ocampo - legit stopped him in 1-2 rounds, not ref BS stoppage after damn near 10 rounds.Last edited by Combat Talk Radio; 10-20-2021, 04:05 PM.Comment

That's cute, you are able to find a punch from a fighter who's style is nothing like Porter to post..... I guess you thought that was suppose to help your argument somehow......How's bout you post a pick of what happened after Kavaliauskas was able to find Crawford with a clean combination......Post one of the times he had to pick himself off the canvas. Post Crawford's hand being raised in the air.......

Any way.......Spence was not treating Horn like he did Ocampo. Ocampo.....though he has a great record has also been put on the canvas at least 5 times that I know of. Horn on the other hand, at the time, had only been given a standing 8 count once in his career.
I have no doubt that Spence beats Horn, easily.....but trying to suggest he would do damage to him that he couldn't do to little Mikey Garcia, or Danny Garcia, or old Lamont Peterson or even a drained Kell Brook coming off of surgery..........stop it..... Let's not act like Spence is some super human and dynamic puncher above guys like Thurman & Crawford.....If Spence was that stout, then why would he start his career at 154 and after 9 bouts move down to welterweight. Name a dynamic puncher who chooses to move down to prove how great of a puncher he is.......
As Crawford moves up....he's been stopping his opponents. Spence goes down and he's been going the distance and having to grind to get past Porter who Brook & Thurman handled without all the bumps and bruises.Comment

You're crazy. That hook is exactly what Porter throws, the only difference is that Porter comes low when he throws it.

You're going off Porter's resume. I'm going off of the fact that Porter has gone close with EVERYONE at the top of the division - meaning he has war experience that Crawford lacks.
You will see that come into play, I guarantee you.Comment

Porter does not throw the same punches that Kavaliauskas throws. If you are trying to convince me or anyone that he does, then you aren't fit to hold this conversation with me.

Don't talk about me "going off Porter's resume" as if you talking about who Porter has fought in the division is somehow different from "going off Porter's resume"..........
Porter had a close fight with EJ (a fighter who has been avoiding Crawford since he got in the division).......Porter doesn't get dominated because of his dirty style. But when has he ever dominated anyone.......Formella......he went the distance with him and never came close to ending it early.......FORMELLA......don't try to bring up his fights vs Spence, or Thurman, or Brook.....but ignore what he just did last year vs a man who has never fought for a world title and probably never will.
Porter LOSES to every elite fighter he faces.....THAT IS HIS HISTORY.....his best wins were vs welterweights who's best years were in the 140 or 135 divisions. If I'm wrong, give me a name of a welterweight who was great as a welterweight and Porter got a victory over. And don't try to say Ugas, because most look at that fight as a robbery. I personally had it 8 rounds to 4. Entering the fight vs Porter, Ugas had never fought a ranked welterweight. Only recently has he beat an elite welterweight and that welterweight happened to be 42 years old.
Meanwhile.....Crawford comes to the division after becoming UNDISPUTED. His opponents try to bring a war to him but his IQ and skill is too great for them to keep up. He doesn't have close fights with ANYONE. He dominates which is what a true elite is suppose to do to an opponent whom he is better than....not go the distance with the Formella's of the world. Gamboa was UNDEFEATED and a top 10 p4p fighter when Crawford dropped him 4x and stopped him. Postol was UNDEFEATED and a top Jr. Welterweight when Crawford pitched a shutout vs him. Crawford went over to Ricky Burns country to take his title. Ricky Burns is announce as "The Pride of a Nation". He's more popular in his homeland than Porter is in America.
You can't guarantee sh**. Especially when it comes to Porter because, again, when was his last significant win.......but he's suppose to "get over the hump" vs one of the top fighters in the world........PLEASE.Comment
