In short, GGG stopped taking risks after Canelo gave him the Mexican style beating he asked for, his current trainer Banks even publicly turned down the trilogy last year. All GGG ever did was thump his chest claiming Mexican style beforehand, but now he's got Mexican style PTSD and won't even mention it. He still looked weak to the body vs Derevyachenko from all the punishment Canelo dished out on him. It's fair to say he was left a mentally and physically damaged fighter after 24 rounds with Canelo whereas Canelo has only gotten stronger.

Side note: As soon as he signed his DAZN contract, I had predicted he'd try to play it out facing soft touches. GGG was never the ambitious fighter he was hyped to be, when you spend 90% of your career facing soft touches, that becomes your comfort zone. The only time he's ever happy is when he's knocking out some second or third tier fighter who never had a chance.
