In addition to everything, Morales and Barrera just had signature moments in their careers that elevate them to another level in peoples minds. What the **** has Marquez done that was more badass than Barrera slamming Naseem Hamed's head into the ringpost? What has he done that was more shocking and exciting than Morales turning southy against Pacquiao in the 12th round of their first fight? When did he go to war against an elite opponent when he didn't necessarily need to?

Barrera and Morales provided boxing fans with a lot of significant, visceral memories. Moments which were so awesome that they won't soon be forgotten. Those guys are legends in the sport and for good reason. It will be hard for Marquez to overcome that and maybe things aren't totally fair but that's how it is.
